If you mean using youtube-dl -f 43 that's just downloading one. Encoding takes much longer than that depending on the video, especially with VP9, and especially on lower-end systems.

You're retarded. Encoding can take much longer, especially with VP9. Unless you're going for qualityfagging, you shouldn't even be using webms either, use MP4 instead. Encoding with h264 is much faster than encoding with VP9.

And yeah, VP9 is a serious encode time trade-off, with the advantage that you can get some seriously small files that don't look like shit.
