Man With the Machinegun aside, everything's so lackluster–serviceable but unmemorable. Eyes on Me is nice and all but I didn't really feel it until I heard it independant of the game. The Landing is good but a pale shadow compared to Raid on Dollet (from the demo); embed related.

Mobile gacha action-RPG reboot, you mean. Sony tried to play it off like "oh it'll be fine, we got the original team on it" when the real message is that the series, along with Arc the Lad, have no business on their actual systems anymore. Not that I'd give Sony money at this point even if the series got a proper new game (which it won't, because mobile reboots are catch 22s for prior fans, and succeed or fail, you're no longer going to get what you want). It's even pushed back the 20th anniversary album because they got Naruke in as part of the mobile team. Probably going to be twenty-two years by the time it's out.
Considering how Kaneko had been pushing for a PS4/Vita WA6 and this was the result, I wouldn't fault him for going back to his anime instead if that's what he does.

Breath of Fire is at least stuffed back in the freezer now since 6 apparently failed. But it's not like those are the only classic RPGs series being given the treatment. Breath of Fire, Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, Arc the Lad, and most recently Phantasy Star Phonetasy Star. I can only sit in morbid curiosity as to what the next corpse they dig up to parade around for shekels will be. Clearly they smell money to be had, but not enough to cater to prior fans that would just like a proper, good new game.
I still say WA and AtL are the most egregious cases, since Capcom, Square, and present-era Sega at least don't have their systems to put games on, and are fully third party.
