Mate, the entire first segment is pure cringe, and of course a game that opens with This game was made with the belief that nobody is wrong for being what they are is going to involve tranny shit at some point. It isn't a gamechanger. The gameplay being surprisingly creative is. As for the Swery link, the game is made by White Owls Inc, and their CEO is Swery. There's not much of a room for misattribution. It just looks like he wanted to fuck around with SJW games, repurposing them to be dismemberment platformers.

This was talked about a couple of months ago after his failed Fig campaign for the Good Life a year ago, he needed to make something cheap and fast, something something about reading some seinen manga and watching Japanese films about LGTBBQ tranny/crossdressing bullshit and self-harm and depression then suicide, then this comes out. It's a bit cringy and some Swery Shots there and there, music is kinda good, but gameplay is utterly basic but muh self-mutilation shit-appeal, didn't get as much shills as most of his games are, just a couple of SJW sites then nothing, some praise it but didn't like the deep implication that trannies would literally harm themselves for attention and validation.

It's less about SanFran tranny pushing cancer and more about Nippon-grown "Draw a girl, call it a boy" cancer. But yeah, the game has interesting puzzles based around new and interesting ways to die and hear a girl scream in pain.

He's still a small time dev with a niche audience and a marketing budget of nothing, I can understand why. Plus Swery is less the kind of person to push agendas and more the kind of person who loves interesting concepts.

Yeah but everything's too short. I'd love to have seen them talk more about the island's lore and make the moosehead doctor an actual deity, but it was all just a dream. Nothing more. The moosehead was a hallucination of the dude using a defib on him, while a moosehead was hung on the wall nearby.

Swery is knock-off Kojima, ripping off Western (typically American) movies and/or TV shows to make his work. He has done this from the first.

DP was great because it was what Twin Peaks should have been, but ultimately Lynch got up his own colon and couldn't hack it so it became the soap opera it was originally lampooning with creative and brutal supernatural subject matter. Swery cut out the fat and made a kooky midwestern mystery story twice as creepy.

Then he goes crazy, makes the worst mistake with D4, loses, becomes a Buddhist, tries making his own games and does it with the most outlandish "wtf" he can think of and here we are - a game where he is surely ripping off something while having newer Western sensibilities.

Mind you, in DP we had a crazy queer too but it was done really well with showing you a femmy soyboy all game only to reveal he's a nutter in a dress.
