MPC does work for me, version is MPC-HC ver 1.7.16.3 and there are no other special add-ons besides the original install. In regards to doing the cytube route, I have NoScript and Tampermonkey installed and don't have any sort of interference between the two on Waterfox.
You may want to install mpv, which is basically a matter of downloading and extracting the archive available from their website, popping youtube-dl into it, and then in command line, navigating to the mpv file directory and typing:
./mpv https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1S63fN4YTyjK55l8LNIX_oRWQjzPFG8lH
