I spent most of my life wishing for the day when you could do anything in a game, I just assumed the more control afforded to the player the better. I was so so wrong. Red Dead Redemption II is probably the most agency I've ever had in a game, and yeah for the first few hours it's really cool. But then it dawns on you that you're not actually doing anything worthwhile. Yeah I can hunt and sell the pelts for money and buy a cool gun but that wears thin after a while. The real thrust of the narrative is in the story missions, and they're always on the opposite end of the map from each other so no matter what it's shoved down your throat that you're playing this weird, disjointed freak of a game where you do everything you can do in real life only it's extra boring because there's no fear of death or actual benefit to you for your effort.
Playing Red Dead Redemption II is like watching For a Few Dollars More but there's an extra 45 hours added onto the runtime in which Clint Eastwood goes through his boring day to day activities like having a bath and eating and riding around on his horse for hours.

In the field of competitive games we get nowadays it's actually refreshing to play something so relaxing, i'm only at 30% but already at least 15 hours in, if not more. what i'm trying to say is that while some people will get bored with the traveling, i really enjoy getting sidetracked by improptu events or a bear crossing the road on my way to a sidemission. Also i didn't try it out yet but once you upgrade your tent/wagon place you can fast travel.

The problem with games like this the whole takes priority over the parts. Shooting will never be as good as a dedicated shooter. Driving will never be as good as a dedicated driver. OP, you're missing the forest for the trees, these tasks aren't meant to be the "drawn" of the game, they're just small activites for you to perform in order to achieve whatever greater goal you have in mind.
Take for example Sunless Sea. You can go to a far island to buy wine and re-sell it cheaper. On the journey, you fight a dangerous shark, meet a group of pirates, and came out badly damaged from both conflicts, now, your crew wants to make a riot against you.
None of these things i mentioned are the main appeal of the game, they're just there to create a more enjoyable experience with more freedom. You could hunt bandits or kill animals to get money, is up to you.

It's mostly minor poz here and there, and I was ignoring it, but the longer you play the more irritating it becomes as you keep finding more and more examples of it. This was my most anticipated game since MGSV. But once I saw the trailer and how it tried to portray the main character as the good guy because he gets along with minorities, I knew something was fishy.
Going back and watching scenes from the first game revealed that even that game was pretty anti-white and I just did not see it back then when I was still cucked.

From what I've played, one serious gripe is that someone tags along for nearly all of the missions I've had to do. Constantly having to babysit them and listen to their inane rambling is just annoying. The missions have been pretty much railroaded setpieces where usually you follow/chase someone until a cutscene plays and then you follow/chase someone until another cutscene starts. Not to mention that the gameplay itself is pretty boring and easy, the majority of gameplay is repeatedly tapping x to gallop and keeping your horse high on meth so you don't take 30 minutes to reach where you want to go every time because the map is fucking huge with nearly nothing worthwhile in it. Fast travel costs at least the loot off of 1 corpse or like 10 pelts and at most 6 dead people or 60 pelts monetarily speaking.

It's a 6/10 or maybe 7/10. Too much drawn out segments before you even get to the meat of the action.
Also, is the sniper scope something that was used in the Wild West? For a time that was known for quick draws and showing off your skills at shooting stuff from long distance just using your eye judgment, seeing that you actually have something that feels modern in the game was jarring. I could be wrong but the in-game design is what you'd expect out of a modern shooter that takes place during a world war game than a western.
