Deathsmiles special edition sealed for $20 on a mom and pop vidya store, didn't pick it up because it was 2013 and had just bought a 360 E from a cousin that didn't want it (it's not compatible with the faceplate) and was more into ps3 gayman anyway, now good luck finding that anywhere but in amazon and for no less than $50. I also caved in and bought the game digitally.
Trouble witches neo, another shmup for 360, i never bought it when i could and now it's been delisted along with its DLC, and unlike akai katana, deathsmiles and otomedius it was only available on the xbox store so i guess i'll get a chance to play it in 2035 when 360 emulation is finally decent.
An enormous box full of ps2 games and accessories for 30 bucks, some of the games there (ape escape 3, the 3 ace combat games, heavenly guardian, okami and SOTC black label, god hand, star ocean 3, KoF XI, steambot chronicles) i am now looking for at reasonable prices, all in all there were about 60 games, 2 multitaps, 10 memory cards, 4 official wired controllers (2 blue and two red) and 2 wireless logitech ones in that box, and i only picked up the 5 GTA games for $4, this one fucked me up so badly i still have dreams about it even though it's been nearly ten years, in those dreams i walk up to that garage sale and take the box plus a few other items (mostly rare vidya i want at the time) for free, then i get in my car (i don't have a car) and drive to a fancy restaurant where i order a pizza and play some ps2 games on the table while i wait for my food.

Been playing TF2 since 2007 but stopped about a year ago due to the community being shit and the updates coming out as slow as molasses.
I spent a total of 6505 hours on it, with at least 2000 of them admittedly being from idling back when that shit still worked. I spent almost 200 dollars on keys throughout (don't know the exact number but I'd like to find out) and I used to buy games that had a promotional TF2 hat. On the brightside I played every one of them but admittedly a few of them I hated and never went back to. Also on the brightside, I probably made back more than what I paid by sharking kids out of their unusuals. Tell me I'm not a failure!

I played Warcraft after Cataclysm. Cataclysm was fine. Ah, well, that is an issue, assuming you aren't apt to just emulate. I understand myself about wanting actual copies of games I enjoy; I've at least done alright for the ones I'm interested in for the PS2 over the last three or four years (some of which since getting up to stupid amounts, and some already being at awful prices but finding them actually quite cheap with luck), but the PS1 is more of an issue: Outside of the Final Fantasies, The Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, and both Wild Arms, you're apt to have to pay a good $30+ each for anything worthwhile. I've been seeing ones that aren't especially liked last I checked, like Beyond the Beyond hitting $30 now when they used to be about $15 a few years back because zero demand, Xenogears is $40-60 despite being a Greatest Hits game, and good fucking luck if you want Valkyrie Profile, Persona I or II, Suikoden II, or either Tales for a remotely reasonable price. Too many games to really go into more direct detail on for, but the one I really can't figure out is Koudelka being $80+ now. I personally like the game (play it digitally stored though; way too much loading from disc), but it's extremely hit or miss, was shat on so hard the producer left the studio he'd made (and his next actual vidya work that didn't get canned was eroge OST composition; these days Kikuta's stuck doing composition for western indieshitters), and I honestly can't think of any reason to really prompt people to want to get it to the point the prices have gone up that badly, short of HIDDEN GERMS faggotry. I got mine for $12. Also, while only having RPG elements to an action adventure, Symphony of the Night is up to about $100 where I am. Fucking Bloodstained and the Kikeflix "anime".
Anyhow, not like you don't have options to at least play what's no longer reasonable to afford, between emulation and CFW/loading ability with various systems.

It might not work but it might be helpful as well. I don't think it will hurt to try.
Generally if he's unmotivated, and does not advance then it means he has some problem with himself. Try to talk to him, think whether you didn't do anything wrong and if you did, if there is a way to fix that.
