They give you a list of mods to use, spend some time on the nexus looking at MOST ENDORSED files and you'll find loads that you'll like.

Modding NV is about modding it for your personal enjoyment so change whatever you think needs changing.

That's 2/3rds the reason new vegas is still popular, the gameplay can be made as casual or hardcore as you want.

Don't play NC though it started off as a good mod (project brazil) but then the dev team for it "expanded" during 2016 and all of a sudden new voice lines got added to all the "totally evil right wing" characters and they were all made to play up the "fuck yea america we are a vault of immigrants make the vault great again"

I still have the original project brazil release and i played through it and you can see where they've added in/edited lines to make the evil characters seem more right wing by giving them lots of patriotic things to say in a mean voice.

Also it's funny that when the project became blatantly SJW inspired the 3 female love interests became fucking ugly after a "redesign" to "make them look more natural"

If you want a fanmade New Vegas expansion that isn't shit, play Coito Ergo Sum. It's literally a mod about running a brothel/porn mag publisher that's dripping in Fallout lore and fits in better than any of Bethesda's crap. The writing is surprisingly good and it has a lengthy quest line with mysteries, secrets and sidequests. The ability to convince almost every named woman in New Vegas to pose nude for you is of secondary importance.

The reason it looks weird is because the engine can't handle meshing with props and pieces. Everything is all jagged and straight with zero curving. Look at how characters work in Fallout. They have a visible seam across their neck where their head mesh and body mesh connect.

The problem is that the mod has such a heavy combat focus that there's barely any time to explore the world. Everything basically falls apart towards the end where you basically slog through an entire army of super mutants with an entire army of NCR and it is not friendly to the game engine.

The mod itself is in BETA and (supposedly) the modding team will begin to fill in more content as time progresses. Basically these dense fucks decided the game was complete "enough" and they're going to populate it and sprinkle in more actual content later. How this differs from the Alpha when they simply had the 1st chapter and then turned you loose onto the wasteland is p-much beyond me but as for

Honestly I can't complain. I use BLEED and Solid Project along with live dismemberment so i thoroughly enjoy fighting off waves of jerkasses in a new action setpiece but I can very easily see how that would get old very fast without any actual content to the game world.

You should get "near death" to compliment those mods. It adds a useless slavery mechanic but the main point is that when enemies are on low enough health, they curl up on the ground and start bleeding to death. Really useful if you want to take out a group of enemies while low on ammo. Also incredibly horrifying when you blow a guy's arm off using live dismemberment and he's laying on the ground holding a non-existent limb.
