Yahtzee is kind of a dipshit who doesn't know the first thing about good games or how to design them. Yet he keeps shitting on legitimately great games just because he always finds one thing offensive about them.
He thinks games are all about story first and everything else in a game such as sound design, controls, gameplay, etc. must be in the service of telling the game's story. If a game has a bad story then the entire thing might as well be shit.
I've played some of the games he's made and they're fine but they're not really all that exciting.

That's because he's not reviewing games. He doing his idea of a "comedy" bit, which is disguised as a review. But shitting on games, whether good or bad, is what keeps the clicks generating - so that's the angle he goes for. Regardless of what you think of him, it's pretty much undeniable at this point that he was the only thing keeping The Escapist from completely imploding - and they even tried rebranding themselves to shift away from PC culture and align themselves more with Yahtzee and the tastes of his audience.
I watched some of the Lets Drown Out videos he did with that fat cunt Gabe, and he was a lot more generous to games he'd previously shit on on Zero Punctuation. Because that show was one he did for fun, while ZP was what he did for a living. So he kept doing what was making him money.
