Is this worth finishing? Played through two chapters so far and it's boring. I have even stopped exploring because all you can find are thermoses and more enemies, seems like the best way to play this is just running to another checkpoint.

If you aren’t hooked in the first two chapters I don’t think the rest will get you. You mostly play that game for the atmosphere and story, the gameplay only gets good in American Nightmare at the cost of the gameplay and story so it’s sort of a catch 22.

I enjoyed it but if you are bored now then there won't be any kind of catch to engage you later on. As other anon said you mostly play for the atmosphere and the story rather than any kind of engaging gameplay, it's fun if you like it but a walking simulator with target practice segments if you don't.

I heard it was a disappointment and only got it on the cheap. I was expecting to at least be able to enjoy an open-world game set in a twin peaks-esque town which I believe it was advertised as at one point. They weren't even able to provide that as apparently the game thinks you give enough of a shit about it's story to be railroaded all the way through.

It's got great atmosphere and the story is fairly engaging, but yeah the gameplay is nothing special - and if the game's presentation isn't enough to carry you along then it's best to drop it. I beat it though, had a good enough time with it to do so.

Or you just pirate it and play it because it's a comfy halloween game. It's a shame though, i remember being disappointed when it came out and i played it on console. Because if i remember correctly it was delayed and reworked heavily, to the point of that it was first supposed to be like a Twin Peaks-game with a city where you investigate a spooky case but it then turned into this heavily repetitive stuff instead.

I enjoyed it overall. Worth it for the concert part! Gets repetitive in some parts, though. I thought I was gonna do a hard mode playthrough for all the pages and stuff, but upon finishing the DLCs I discovered I could not give that much of a fuck.
