The memes had something to do with it, but mostly it was the fame. He had his family pressuring him to do more commentated videos, even his own mother was pushing him to do more. His siblings would bring over friends or he'd meet a friend of a friend who would hear who he was and constantly talk about it even after pannen said he'd strongly rather not. It was like the fucking Tell-Tale Heart, except it was the Tell-Tale Half-Press.
He also had a lot of internal pressure saying that he shouldn't capitalize on the memes, and should only put out a commentated monetized video if it was really worthy. He sets his standards too high for his own good, really.
The two combine to make for an uncomfortable situation where everybody in your life, even occasionally strangers, are trying to pressure you into doing something you morally disagree with. I get why it hit him so hard.

His family sounds kinda like sellouts, don't they understand that there are things (weird things/quirks) that you do that your family knows about that should stay confined to the privacy of your own family?
He can't be making that much monetized money or fame off of this can he? It's just a bizarre thing to pressure a family member to do.

The average person has primitive, stupid ideals on popularity and famousness, and believes that any bit of fame that a person can claw for, they should. These are the "15 minutes of fame" people and would absolutely push for something with all their being just because they see it as popularity or validation. Most people you have known probably have this idea and you never knew, and they would do anything to jump at any chance at fame in any way.

Certainly know of the idea, people want money and they want it easily (or through fun work, like why so many kids want to be cartoon voice actors or lets players)
That why I think public fame is just a leash that restrains the individual, forcing them to toe the line, making outdoor excursions awkward if fans recognize you, losing some of your privacy, etc.

I ran up to the trees in front of the castle, the obvious first place to find butterflies, and chased one of the butterflies, diving at it again and again, growing increasingly frustrated as I became increasingly sure that, yes, I was actually touching the butterfly. My cousin just sat there and laughed, saying that she was sure it worked but I just must not be touching the butterfly or something. I called her a lying bitch, she took it more seriously than I intended (though it was a bit serious), we had a big fight, and 22 years later we still don't have the good relationship we once had.

It's not "autistic," it's performant. Bit shifting is as easy to a computer as "moving the decimal" is to us when we multiply or divide by ten. No matter what, I think he's probably over-selling the "stress" he was under because of it. Look at CWC, he's autistic and basically uses any excuse not to do anything because of "stress". Probably the same for this kid, he's an autist and any tiny inconvenience is a good excuse to crash into slumber instead of trying to work. He seems a little more functional and smarter than CWC, but I'm sure they act the same more or less.

Really the only thing they have in common is that they are both autistic and that they both claim to be stressed. "I'm sure they act the same more or less" is a bit of a stretch, since you largely only have information on CWC but not Pannen. Also family members finding out really doesn't require him to tell everyone on the entire planet: if any singular person that knows him in real life recognises his voice and if anyone caught him sitting in his room trying to build speed for 10 hours, he could easily have been found out.

So it's still grammatically correct.

>>15716777
>That's not grammar though.
Correct capitalisation is a grammar issue.
Incidentally, the word "grammar" shares an etymological root with the word "glamour", which is traditionally a type of fairy magic later used to describe something of otherworldly beauty. And the "spelling" of words is also rooted with the idea of magic "spells", because people who could read and write were considered to be kind of magic. In fact, in ancient Roman times if you could read without moving your lips to silently sound out the words you were considered "gifted".
So learn your grammar and spelling, or else you suck at magic.

How many coins you have when you collect a star in SM64 can slow you down when doing speedruns. What's more, selecting whether to save or not at the end of collecting a star can also affect your playtime, as can whether or not Mario is wearing a hat, as a longer animation plays when he is hat-less.
So speedrunners can optimise their runs by collecting coins within a specific bracket, because if you collect too many coins and the game will waste frames counting shekels, or if you collect too few the coins will count more slowly, also slowing you down.

true, and a fair point. While CWC is a lazy fuck and doesn't devote his time to much of anything, Pannen is motivated enough to continue looking for shit in SM64 and make videos that even people who haven't played SM64 can understand. If Chris had even half of Pannen's drive he'd probably be on Sonichu #100 by now.
However, I still think he's over-exaggerating on how much stress he's under. I think his meme-status was just a bit much to handle and he got overwhelmed. Blaming his family is an easy out, since he doesn't have to prove it necessarily and there's nothing he can really do about it. I think he probably felt trapped once his video went viral, and he didn't think he could keep pumping out videos like that on a weekly or even monthly basis. It wasn't something he wanted to do.
I guess I misspoke a bit, I'm not trying to say he's like CWC, just that he probably thinks/acts in a similar manner in some cases. I just don't really buy his excuse for not doing more narrated videos.
