I really liked Zombie Master back around 2007/2008. Really amazing game. I only got my PS3 around 2013 and online was pretty quiet at that point. I still enjoyed the little bit I played.

The main reason they shut the servers down was because there was usually like 9 people online at any one time. It was like this almost immediately after Dark Souls released. Most people just forgot Demon's Souls even existed.
People also really seemed to hate Demon's Souls when it first came out despite loving Dark Souls even though both games were so similar to each other. I remember Yahtzee's review on Demon's Souls when it first came out he hated it but then adored Dark Souls.

The early days of DotA. And I mean the 15½ years ago early days of DotA. There had been AoS before, but DotA had refined the ideas behind AoS so well that even after just 2 or 3 past past its public release, it was clear that a new genre of game had been born. To me it was more powerful than the jump from a predominantly 2D gaming world to having good 3D games to play like Super Mario 64 or OoT. Too bad DotA went to shit with All-Stars and Guinsoo's god fucking awful balance.

As much as I miss 1 and 2, never having played Vengence or AA, I don't really miss Ascend. From the start it was a giant cash grab with unfinished design problems and glaring problems. It was fun for a period of time but looking back on it, most of the fun I had was simply because Tribes itself is such a good formula, even with the cocking up that Hi-Rez did. I suppose we should have listened to the Global Agenda players, they tried to warn us.
A shame T2 only has a dozen people on at peak hours now. Most maps don't even play well with that few players, and when you throw the cheaters into the mix it sours the experience immensely.

I really enjoyed playing this with friends. Classes were varied and interesting while requiring cooperation to succeed. Just never had many players. People that found it unbalanced were humans that would run off on their own.

Modnation Racer's servers also went offline recently. So many karts, racers, and tracks all gone. I also feel sad that Mega Man Powered Up's servers are also gone, so no more custom levels.
