So the game is like two weeks away, what are your expectations for it?

If you don't know its the new game by the guy behind REZ. It takes Tetris and introduces new mechanics like a "slam" which seems to be a quicker just holding down, a meter that charges and does a slowdown intended to make larger combos like a 'dodecahextris' while psycadelic imagery and floaty music is intended to overstimulate to the point of ironically creating a sensory deprivation effect.

The world Tetris champions have tried it and said its very good and while i love Tetris Blast from my Childhood and PuyoPuyo Tetris is good fun on the Switch the rhythm game aspect of it is appealing to me the most.

What do you make of it so far?

This is meant to be something different using the new slowdown move, the normal hard drop still moves in slow motion in this mode. I think its more like a straight up 'nothin personal kid' you can only do in the slow meter mode.

Actually kind of looking forward to a version of Tetris that feels significantly distinct from every other version of Tetris, even if it's just presentation. I have played Tetris a lot.

By the way Puyo Puyo esports just came out for 5 bucks until november 30. And despite it being nip-only and barebones as fuck (only VS tsu and fever rules, no story mode, missing animations, asset swap game), the multiplayer alone makes it an infinitely better purchase than this exclusive single-player VR meme game.
