Basically the way I see this is there are two different sides to this stuff. You have biological sex - this should be a given and people should be encouraged to be comfortable with it - and then you have perceived gender which, as with any subjective internal element, is open to individuals restructuring it as they see it. This is not something that could be stopped even if it should be. To me, the biggest issue here is how they have conflated these two ideas and homogenized the issue into the realm of biological sex which essentially forces it on society as an external attribute and makes egomaniacs out of the whole lot. At that point yes I consider it to be weaponized to a degree. Also by forcing individuals to choose (via "transsexual") either one compromised, incomplete side of the coin or the other and doing their best to hide the existence of and even discourage other options and methods of conduct it turns this into a highly polarized issue and political fodder.

But, the fact is, in our world today with rapidly changing cultural and social paradigms there is no inherent need for an individual to subscribe to the constrained gender roles of the past. Human beings are amazing in their ability to create unique nexuses of culture on a local level - our very nature is to define, re-define and create. I disagree with the degree to which the trans agenda is pushed, but it has always been my understanding that to personally get the most out of my life I would have to find a way to synth every incomplete set of halves into their whole form, and this includes gender. I consider it a natural extension of the evolutionary process that eventually we would need to address and refine the concept of gender from the archaic shit we have been running on since the start of history.

Gender is literally nothing more than culturally sanctioned sets of actions. It isn't even a consistent product throughout cultures and is often riddled with inefficient and harmful devices. The only thing preventing a person from breaking these bonds is those around them, and in locally supportive environments people can and will exercise their right to change this part of culture. to what fits their needs best.

To summarize, this is an entirely natural process of a self-aware species finding its identity among itself and the cosmos, at its core, however like most other positive things of this nature we have been presented - given an artificially stripped-out version on a mass scale, and this has complicated the issue into something most sane people rightfully want nowhere in our culture. Trannies are shit. This stalls cultural progress. Most actual genderfluid folks who aren't deep in these queer circles hate this pronoun shit as much as the rest of you, it gives us all a bad name and fucks up the cultural syntax. The problem seems to be in brain wiring, I'm assuming the absorption of estrogen chemicals in utero or during a child's developmental phase led to these wiring disorders. The only way to fix this is to force the brain to rebuild itself which to my knowledge can only be done with electroshock therapy or some other form of therapy which is capable of breaking down synaptic bonds. I know this works for severe depression, I'm assuming that the part of the brain that defines sexuality can also be modified in this way. A treatment of the correct hormone during the re-development period should result in the brain being reconfigured correctly.

The study you're referring to in question made the conclusion that a majority of the recent uptick in teenagers and youngers is from these factors, but did make the differeniation between that and cases that have been occurring since the 1980s with "strong and persistent sense of discomfort from an early age". Something completely different from the teenagers who just spontaneously start shouting about how they're different with no previous signs before.
