Is it too much to ask for a shooter where it takes place anywhere else other than the World Wars?

How about playing as a Russian during the invasion of Afghanistan?

How about a video game about that one Vietnam sniper who got +100 confirmed kills?

Or even some small American detachment during the Korean war?

With how bloody human history is there is plenty of game potential out there, but what do we stick to? Americans vs Russians, Americans vs Nazis, Americans vs Robot-Communists, give me a fucking break here.

But to add to this thread, World at War was a cool little FPS experience, but it probably isn't my favorite, Medal of Honor: Airborne

A game based on the Iran-Iraq war would be absolutely fucking insane. That war was basically a giant greatest hits collection of tactics and armaments spanning the entire 20th century with heaping side helpings of insanity and horror.
