What are some really shitty games? I mean really shitty, not your average modern videogame that is shit but "serviceable", but really shitty, really hard and annoying in poorly designed ways. I've been looking for more since I recently decided to subject myself to kane and lynch 2 on the hardest difficulty which turned out to be one the worst games I've ever played, but strangely compelling because of how frustrating it was, I just want that feeling like I hate the videogame and I want to conquer it out of spite so I never have to see it again.

I am surprised that SimCity2013 and No Man's Sky made that list, but Mass Effect: Andromeda did not. But I guess it was a different type of failure.
See, all of these games have one thing in common, and that's that they were massively hyped up and then proved to be a big disappointment. The list is missing many games that, like Andromeda, were never expected to be very good by most people, and so when they came out with all the grandeur of a small wet fart, nobody was really surprised. The reaction was less "terrible!" and more "meh" despite being very bad.
But OP, if you really want to suffer you can go on Steam and find the lowest-rated indie games. There's a good chance some of them don't even work properly.

That's a whole new level of bad. There are games with bad controls, graphics, sound. Hit detection is fucked, it pisses you off. But at least it makes you feel something. With Ubisoft games you slowly cease to be a human being, unthinking and unfeeling, until you fade from existence.

pic related was fucking awful. terrible controls, terrible level design, terrible writing, terrible everything. the only, and i mean only good things about this game were:
>Mickey Rourke's voice acting in one and only one line: "Goddamn cock-breath Commie motherfuckers"
>the song that played during the credits was just a cut-together mashup of all of Rourke's lines that were strung together in a surprisingly funny joke rap song

Glad you asked. Where to start? The controls suck, the sound effects are terrible, the weapons are underpowered, and the level design and enemies were clearly thrown together with absolutely no thought put into them. Most bosses are boringly and simple with very repetitive attacks. The pacing and difficulty progression is absolutely schizophrenic. Worst of all, you can brute force your way right through many badly-designed enemy attacks and formations by simply having a powerful generator to keep your shield recharging fast.
And you know what? The music isn't even that good. I've played bunches of 2D shooters with similar later age FM-style soundtracks CONSIDERABLY better than this.
I'm so glad I finally played this turd so I can know just what you nostalgiafaggots get so worked up over. You know what's better than Tyrian? Jets 'n' Guns. Hell, you know what's better than Tyrian? Fucking Touhou. I shit you not, the bottom of the barrel in modern indie 2D shooters is still better than this turd.
Tyrian was released in 1995. Let's have a look at what else was released in 1995: Donpachi, Strikers 1945, Viper Phase 1, Cho Ren Sha 68K, and motherfucking Raiden and Raiden II got proper home ports with The Raiden Project. Every single one of these kicks the SHIT out of Tyrian. And that was a weak year for 2D shooters.
I can only conclude one thing: The people who hype this stinker have very limited experience with the rest of the genre. People who played DOS games and nothing else, with little interest in other game platforms of the time. But even that isn't the best explanation, because arcade shooters finally started getting PC ports only a few years later. This game is a joke compared to its obvious Compile shooter inspirations.
Oh, and maybe people who value humor or "intellectual" pursuits (in this case, pointless decision-making) in video games over good action. Well the joke's on you: you're playing the wrong game genre!

Somehow, a shooter is mostly a game where you shoot things and dodge bullets. But this definition is far too vulgar for any European mind. I mean, no real European man can enjoy a simple thing like that and keep looking into a mirror with some respect for himself. Because it's a definition that makes the game a matter of agility, and not of intelligence and strategy. And this, for a genuine European mind, is the most despicable thing of all.
So Euroshmups are a (mostly missed) attempt to "level-up" the intellectual interest of the genre. So to say, a desperate attempt to turn poker into chess.
This is achieved by adding to shmups the most unexpected elements possible, and there are basically three different types:
-adding difficulties to destroying enemies (limited ammo, weapon management, weak weapons, excessive enemy health, etc.)
-adding difficulties to controlling the ship (ship control taking care of gravity or inertia, needlessly aping the old Asteroids style of acceleration and turn buttons, etc.)
-adding difficulties in the level design and gameplay (level traps, things that kill you before you're dead because you need to know ahead of time that you need X amount of health to survive something that isn't dodgeable, everything that requires a complete anti-natural behavior)
Euroshmups are basically games that tend to give the bigger possible malus to players who rely on skill. They usually are insanely difficult and frustrating for those who try to beat them by playing them in the manner of a typical arcade action game. Seriously OP, Euroshmups are right up your alley. Grab an Amiga emulator and dig in.

Even without that, it's still the objective worst city builder ever, because the entire plot size is scarcely larger than a city block. They also dumbed down literally every element of gameplay.
And all of this was because of limitations created by the agent system meme (that also hog-ties up Skylines) and focus on pretty graphics over all else.
No, SC2013 should forever be preserved as the perfect shining example of everything that is wrong with modern games.

Runs at 20fps on a good day, repeats the same small brown maps as much as possible, has a tight calender system that must be managed carefully and I'm pretty sure the command functions don't actually do anything. You'll be dropped into some foggy shithole, get your main gun arm shot off, crawl through water, have your resupply van blown up, while your allies waddle in circles and suddenly four GM sniper 2's walk into the map and kill you before you even know what's shooting at you. And worst of all, people blame it's failure in the western market for Bamco refusing to release many other Gundam titles over here to this day, including the spiritual successor that fixes almost every problem it had.
Still finished it something like 5 or 6 times.
