The God Eater 3 demo came out recently and they're currently testing out the 8 man raids in the demo. It's where you have 5 minutes to kill an OP boss but you have an 8 man team. Meanwhile other big aragami will be assisting the one you're trying to kill. Not sure how long the demo will be up but the 8 man raid should be ending today or tomorrow. Of course, the demo is on JP PSN only but you don't need PS+ to play the raid.

<What has changed for GE3:

>Gameplay is based more off GE:Resurrection. Meaning it's more about the many ways you can devour enemies to chain burst mode. However blood artes are back to allow for some moveset customization.

>2 new melee weapons and 1 new gun. The melee weapons are the Heavy Moon and Biting Edge. Heavy moon is a crescent shaped weapon that transforms into an axe. It's a mix between Boost Hammer and Buster Blade. Meanwhile the Biting Edge are dual swords that transform into twin blades. Trading the short sword's mobility for more damage and stamina consumption. The Ray Gun is the new gun that deals more damage the longer you fire.

>Custom bullets now use their own ammunition instead of relying on oracle like your normal rounds.

>You now have a blocking air dash called Dive. Making it a good way to approach enemies from afar or run away quickly.

>Accelerator Trigger is a new mechanic where meeting certain conditions during battle will grant you buffs. Like performing a perfect guard means getting a short attack buff.

>Engage allows you to share Accelerator Trigger buffs with a character near you.

>Aragami can now devour you to buff themselves and transform. A aragami in burst mode can be shortened by using a devour on them.

That's all I know of some far. My only real gripe so far is the character customization could be much better. You still don't have full control of the clothing/accessory colors. No size, width, or muscle adjustments. You can't even make yourself flat or a titty monster. The hairstyles are lacking too. Though they could be something you can unlock as you keep playing.

As a hunting game? It's lacking some polish and the mass amount of recycled content MH can add to their own games. MH is definitely more polished than GE but GE does its own things to make it unique. Like having faster gameplay, more focus on mobility, and barely any emphasis on gathering (depends if you like that aspect or not). If we were talking pre-MHW. I would say God Eater is not a replacement for MH or that it's better. Sure this game does look like it's the step in the right direction for the series (many didn't care for Rage Burst 2's gameplay as much as Resurrection) but GE3 is combining the better aspects of both games.

Hopefully it will turn out well. Though I definitely realize it won't have as much content as MH Generations or World.

"Is it better than MHW" is what you should be asking. If you hate MHW for being casualized, Capcom is the asshole you should be mad at for shitting on you. if MHXX is their "serious" mh title submission, then why is it on the Switch instead of the other consoles + PC? Capcom is seriously bad at handling their MH IP when it comes to western audience.

No kidding. I was already getting bored of MH because it was constantly getting easier and easier. All the new features were cool but if the monsters are so crippled by all the new features that the game doesn't even get slightly difficult until G rank then I spend 30+ hours before the game actually challenges me.

Toukiden is also a series I hope gets more games. The second game was very fun and I love all the new features they added. Making a glass cannon self poison spin-2-win dual knives build was stupid fun.

I didn't even realize this until now but you can't access the mortar in this demo. I doubt they removed the mortar for the ray gun.

I will give them some credit; I didn't think about it until it was mentioned. However, that seems pretty obvious in hindsight. These types of games like giving enemies super/rage modes with certain conditions causing them, so enemies that have super modes based on landing specific attacks on enemy players would further distinguish it from others.

The only downside I could see is that may end up rewarding skill with less challenge, which is something to be wary of.

Oh thank fuck after playing Resurrection trying to go back to the older games without devour styles was such a hassle. I hope Ciel comes back as an NPC party member.

The enemy devour attacks are pretty tough to dodge and are unblockable. But this game is even more momentum based than Resurrection. Burst bonus + Accelerator Trigger buff + Engage buff. Once you've met all of these while denying the aragami from devouring you gives you a huge advantage. But with the new Dive ability monsters move around much more and attack pretty fast at times. I want to try tackling missions where you fight 3+ aragami in a row. I always found that to be where the real difficulty starts.

No clue if you can change your devour abilities yet but as of now you have the quick devour, standard heavy devour, and an air devour. It's not revolved around spamming blood artes like Rage Burst 2 either. The blood artes in this game can only be accessed when you're in burst mode anyway.

The more titty monsters the best. Which reminds me, this is the first game in the series that dual audio. So that's a plus.
