I've seen the idea for a "Tetris Man" fighter and I think it's stupid. Just make the Tetris character an I-Block that rearranges its individual segments to become the other blocks.
B: S-Spin
Turns into an S shape and spins itself really rapidly like a shuriken.
Side+B: Tetribeam
Creates a stack of blocks in front of itself and causes a Tetris to happen, which eliminates all the blocks in front of it in a fashion similar to a beam.
Down+B: Stack Drop
Lays down flat and random Tetris blocks continuously rain down from the sky as long as the button is held.
Up+B: Garbage
Similar to what happens in most Tetris vs. modes, a huge stack of Tetris garbage lines rise up from underneath the block, functioning as a towering platform. The stack stays on screen and functions as a platform/obstacle until somebody hits it twice.
Final Smash: Kremlin Launch
Based on the victory screen from Tetris on NES, the Kremlin launches into space and comes back down on the stage, creating a massive explosion that sends Tetris blocks flying everywhere.

How the fuck is that "historic"? It's just a marketing move more than anything. It's hardly a landmark moment since crossplay has existed before on other games. There is nothing special about this.

"Simple" designs are different from "lazy" ones. Kirby and Jigglypuff are simple designs made by competent artists who needed simplistic yet recognizable characters for the Game Boy games they made due to the fact that they were on a tiny colorless screen. Steve is just a lazy design by an incompetent artist, and stands as a black stain on his own franchise since he is a shitty developer graphic that never got replaced by proper ones.

It is not, and statements like this prove you don't have a clue what you're talking about. It's like I'm arguing with a brick wall.
Mario is very much a historic character since he is one of modern gaming's progenitors, paving the way with revolutionary games that were never done before. His design is a callback to his arcade roots that paid a lot of attention to detail, as his blue overalls and red undershirt made it possible to distinguish his arms from his legs on a low resolution screen, and his mustache made it possible to distinguish his nose and eyes. He has a ton of thought put into his design and became one of the poster boys for good character design in video games, where his design served a purpose.
Steve, by contrast, was thrown together in a few seconds in Blender, probably with a footnote by Notch saying to "replace this later" that he never actually followed up on. Any idiot with Blender can click and drag to make a bunch of rectangular prisms appear in the rough shape of a humanoid, just like any idiot can texture these shapes. His design was born not out of necessity but out of laziness. And as far as shaping the gaming landscape is concerned, Steve did nothing. He did not invent sandbox games, he did not invent FPS games, he did not invent crafting. All of these things existed before in games. He merely took existing ideas and simplified them so that the lowest common denominator (kids with autism) could understand them.
In essence, Steve is a character designed by an idiot for idiots.

That being said, 54 of the 68 characters have blog entries so far and with an average of 2 fighters a week, that's 7 weeks for all 68 fighters to get a post. The final week ending on December 1st, leaving 6 days between the final announcement and the game's release. With that said, it's safe to assume that the next Smash announcement will be the last and most likely be a 40 minute or so fact extravaganza similar to to Wii U announcement that will most likely air around this time next month.

I don't want any new fighters, but having a more diverse set of costumes for each character would be great. Sm4sh showed it was possible with Bowser Jr. and Olimar to have completely different models with the same hitbox, and Cloud having two different models as well. A couple of the Mario Odyssey costumes for Mario and the sports outfits for other mario series characters would be a great start.
Above all though, I just hope there's better balance among the roster and there are fewer characters in the "unplayable against Bayonetta and Cloud" tier.
