Remember when some Star Citizen offshoots were kickstarting a spiritual multiplayer-focused successor to the Descent series called Descent: Underground? Now they're slapping on an actual singleplayer campaign onto it, and are just calling it Descent (2019) instead. They've released a story trailer where the reboot is just about miner wars instead of destroying robots taken over by a virus, and a gameplay trailer can be seen in embed related, which looks janky as fuck, shit music, UI and framerate included. At 0:06 you can even see "Objective text goes here" in the top right corner under all the objectives. Multiplayer will be about classes with skill tree upgrades and shit.
This is inevitably going to get compared to Overload, which is a spiritual successor to Descent by the actual original Descent developers released this year, and even at a glance looks better in every way compared to what they've shown here. It'll probably worse better than Overload too, which is doubly ironic considering Overload runs on Unity (but is incredibly well optimized for an Unity game).
Also Overload is the best FPS released in a decade, go fucking play it
