It's on the ps2, gamecube and xbox, it plays like a fun 3d beat em up.

I tried God Hand yesterday, it seems okay, but definitely not what I expected. I presume this is just one of those games that takes a bit to wind up so I'll keep playing it, but I'm a tiny bit disappointed that its not one of those few prodigy games where you jump in and its campy and crappy but has mindblowingly good combat right out of the gate.

God hand requires you to get some cash so you can buy better moves and create your own style; drunken master moves are fun, and when you learn the invulnerability on certain moves you can dodge while you're attacking like a master.

There was this pretty good SNES(might have been genesis or NES) ninja game whose name I can't quite remember. You had all this sick movement/attack abilities including a vertical kick that dealt the most damage out of your attacks.

Rising Zan, absolutely. It almost definitely inspired certain gameplay aspects in DMC and God Hand, as well as the humor of the latter game. It doesn't control very well though.

I like the english theme, but the japanese one is so much better. Hironobu Kageyama of all people sang it.

Alien Soldier isn't much like DMC, but it does have a crazy high skill ceiling as it's centered entirely around speedkilling tons of bosses

You get a dash teleport, which if you are at full health becomes a massively damaging dash move that can shave off half the health on a lot of bosses, but it sacrifices a bit of health so you can't spam it. You can however parry projectiles, reflecting them back or turning bullets into health which you can think pick up and use your phoenix force again. Basically getting hit less means you can deal more damage which in turn means you can kill most things before they can hit you, and so on, it's a very satisfying system.

On top of that add gravity shifting, and the whole resource management metagame where you have to manage the ammo of your four weapons, and pick the right weapon types depending on what enemies you face. The weapons you don't have equipped will regenerate ammo over time, so even when you aren't killing things you have to think about what you will have equipped.

The pacing of the game is fucking CUHRAZY too
