In other words, they turned RA's engineer mechanics into Generals capture method. Except of course the fact that, unlike in Generals, engineers are the only ones that can capture (in Generals you can use ordinary combat infantry), still cost a shitload of money (in contrast to units that cost like $100) and you can't accelerate the capture process (in contrast to being able to stack 20 infantry and just capture buildings rapidly). Generals capturing would have been a perfectly fine method by which to nerf but instead they just turned engineer into being an overexpensive repair tool.

Now that's the funny thing, they completely gave up explaining that shit after Tiberian Sun and Firestorm was a dud, remember that scene in the Nod ending where Kane disappears in some orange light that's reminiscent to the Chronosphere going off? now funny story, there was supposed to be a CnC MMO for that, Kane messing up the timeline to set up for the Tiberium Wars, and also the explanation that Yuri was his acolyte, and PsiCorps was also his idea attributed to Stalin, man, now if you ever played Flame Dancers the unofficial mod that bridges Tiberium and Red Alert, several developers added that in their brainstorming that Kane was messing up the timeline to experiment with weapons in WW2, explanation on why technology was advance in the 50s with the Soviet Union, and that he was also the one who gave the Chronosphere time traveling idea to Einstein, also the explanation on why Nod was Cyborg Commandos was based on Volkov, and yadda yadda, the idea fell out because by the time Tiberian Sun was in full development, they were going to be sold to EA and the fucked-up development they did on that game, made them gave up bridging it, along with EA destroying multiple projects of theirs.sorry, autistic ramblings. My main gripe with C&C1 is the economy. You're broke 90% of the time, just barely scraping by or struggling to build anything at all no matter how good you are.
This is mainly because Tiberium fields run out fast, and Harvesters have to travel long distances to other fields. The game moves at a snail's pace compared to the sequels.
C&C1 places a lot more emphasis on stealing enemy buildings, selling them or pozzing them from inside.
I'm glad they made the economy function better in RA and subsequent games.
