Worse came to absolute worse and you really did get so stuck you couldn’t continue, just look up a guide, that would be better than spending money on a game that removed those parts you were stuck on in the first place. I mean, it just goes back to insanity. Who in the world thought this was a good idea?

He kept an excel sheet of all of his "victories" and he'd notate how he destroyed each cart, as if they were living things that he'd torture in various ways before finally killing them for good.
It's his money to spend however he pleases, but holy fuck it broke me seeing his Shadow of the Colossus disc snapped, drilled through, and half melted.

I hope for his/your locales sake he's the sort of pleb that only cares about easy to find, mainstream stuff and not destroying copies of anything that's already hard enough to find.

At what point does destroying a given copy effectively raise the price of the remaining by enough to make up for it? I'm just trying to figure out the logic there, beyond "it's rarer now so it's worth more." I mean, why buy two copies of something, perhaps at the same cost, and then destroy one so the other's worth eventually goes up a tiny big?

His logic was that he beat the game. Dude has some serious fuckall sperg-level anger issues, so he rages out at absolutely everything, breaks his shit all the time. So he compounds all of his rage and takes it out on the game itself once it's done. He says it's better than breaking his stereo (he kicked a hole into one of his speakers on his stereo system because of fucking Halo 2) and he says it's cheaper than therapy.
I stopped hanging out with him. I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up shooting up a mall or something.
