Granted there were some good ideas like Virgil using his sword to teleport around and a dynamic environment. but the game was so poorly written that you didn't even notice these things till a year after you played it. I wasn't sure at first seeing how most of the marketing was focusing exclusively on Nero, it made it seem like they made the game around him, which killed DMC4, and that he was getting all the fun toys. Now this is somewhat relieving but I'm not sure if it's good for Capcom to show his hand like this, they should leave some surprises. Everyone and their dog knows Vergil is going to be in the game and might even be a playable character and that V is most likely related to him in some way (it might even be him in disguise). Although, I'm not feeling the style gauge since it seems to reach SSS without anything too fancy, I'd hope is just for demo purposes or tied to the difficulty but who knows…
On a different note I'm assblasted that Tetsuya Shibata isn't involved with the music of this game and I know he doesn't work with Capcom anymore but he's responsible for making most of the memorable tracks in the series. Double Nigger is an alright song but if Subhuman is anything to go by, this game's soundtrack might end up sucking.

Apparently the demo at Comic-Con had the Dante demo. Fan event afterwards that I went to had the old Nero. It was pretty easy as both Mark and I won. Only really got hit once before Goliath due to not being used to the Bone controller and even when fighting the boss I took the most damage during his second phase.
Pretty easy to stay in the air but I'm not sure if I could say it was "infinite" exactly since there were big lines all around-couldn't waste too much time testing. The boss's large size allowed for continuous dodging through enemy steps. For regular enemies, it felt pretty similar to how he played in vanilla 4 (at least air-wise) and I recall being easier to juggle enemies with him than Dante due to to the nature of his Devil Bringer.

Is not a problem with the face scans or rigging, the models themselves are high quality but the issue is the skin and how it reflects lighting, it doesn't help that the lighting REngine uses to make "photorealistic" environments doesn't help their characters. I've also noticed that Capcom doesn't enhance the faces aesthetically speaking but given their track record I wouldn't want them to, if you think the models look off now with those lighting conditions, imagine with Capcom enhancing them.
There was no need for this push for realism in DMC5, modern effects sure but modern lighting and faces is just asking for more work. It would've even cut down on dev time because Itsuno stated that getting the movements to feel right with this new realistic physics engine was one of their first roadblocks. I know one of the first things I'm gonna do when this game comes out is make myself a ReShade profile because right now it looks so washed out it's lifeless.

The style is similar to DmC, and I'm not surprise, considering that Itsuno had said to like the game (although it may had been only for PR reasons, but I'll assume it actually true to some extent). Yet it didn't surprise me at all. Japanase players and developers alike have a fucking horrible taste in videogames. Like they like shit like Skyrim and Fallout and all kind of triple A trash despite having developed better games.
I'm still undecided about the game. In one hand, the visual and artistic direction is atrocious, not only it doesn't fit DMC, it looks even worse than in RE. Only Dante and Nero are kind of passable looking. The music so far is more miss than hit. Devil Trigger is "OK", but the theme for Dante was trash, I hope they take it out. The vibrant colors of the old games are gone, in their place we have the more "realistic" washed up ones. Things like changing one character skin color, and the ugly design of Nico doesn't help making me too confident about the game. On the other hand, the snippets of gameplay so far looked fantastic, the classic moves are in and has been expanded with some new interesting mechanics, the animation look great, the effects are pretty cool, Dante's devil trigger design is intact, the personality of the characters, for what we have seen so far seem to be just as they are supposed to be, and it still crazy over the top.
I reserving my judgement until the game is released.Of course it will have Denuvo anyway, so it will kill any desire to buy it I might had
