It's not really along the line of Gundam Breaker, but Heavy Gear and Heavy Gear 2 are great fun. They both have a large variety of base Gears in different weight classes and a bunch of loadout options. Heavy Gear Assault is the new one, but the whole thing has been a shit show and is currently in steam early access purgatory, and I can't recommended that one.
In Heavy Gear the campaign follows the Confederated Northern City States and the boxy hunks of shit they use. Like the small recon unit Cheetah, or the big weapons platform Kodiak.
The campaign itself is ok, and the gear customization opens up a bit about mid way through. Feels a bit like Mechwarrior 2 mercenaries if you could skate, but isn't really like it at all.
Heavy Gear 2 follows Black Talon, a faction that draws Gears from the other factions and remixes them as Dark versions. Like the Dark Cheetah or Dark Mamba. This game offers great loadout customization, letting you take perks and flaws to balance out your loadout points. Gameplay wise it also makes you feel a lot more true to the idea of gears, which are generally cramped suits the smallest of which are only a bit over twice the size of a man, operating in recon squads.
This one is the better game of the two, but the first one is good fun as well.
As a side note, these games are based off a table top game, currently at Heavy Gear Blitz, which is pretty fun. The rules are mostly ok, and the older metal 1/144 minis were hard to keep together, but really nice once they were cleaned up. Too bad dream pod 9 are a bunch of colossal faggots and went to plastic miniatures from lead free pewter, which have different issues all their own.
