I don't really like Fury's design. War and Death both looked like avatar's of their namesakes. Nothing about Fury's look says "fury" to me.

Is it me or the artstyle looks different?

Fury's design sucks, her familiar was kinda cute from what I can remember.

I get the 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' reference, but it really doesn't feel like they went as far as they could with the design.

It was. The basedboys at THQ Nordic bought the franchise, released remasters of 1&2 and announced the long awaited sequel. THQ Nordic have been buying up a lot of old dead THQ IPs recently, they also bought Titan Quest and Red Faction.

People have already mentioned it, Her original design was better, she looked more feminine and had natural red hair, which turned into fire. It was more aesthetically pleasing.

The purple/purple flames is gay as fuck and she looks like a tumblr tranny, if they lack the ability to notice this design flaw, then the quality of the game will also reflect their poor judgement.

If you see it as a desperado sequel from the looks of the announcement, each character doesn't even have the same moves and it's actually in disguise a shadow tactics sequel, almost a sick joke.

I'll play it, but it's been years since the second game and the hype is dead. Her redesign is a red flag but hopefully it plays well. I want my Strife game though, but that will probably just be a lazy redo of the previous games. I feel like Strife should be different than the other three, with their melee focus and instead be like Gunslinger from DMC mixed with Vanquish and Max Payne. A fun, crazy TPS with some cool other worldly weapons.

I liked DSII more than 1. I loved 1, but 2 had that great music by Jesper Kyd, that art direction, that stellar performance(It worked on my machine), Death voiced by Michael Wincott sounding like poisoned honey, Lilith in her bonerific form, etc.

I felt the combat inherently could have been great, but it's clear shit like the diablo loot system fucked with them. From a difficulty viewpoint it's insanely easy to break the game with a lucky drop(or one of those life steal scythes) and from a combat standpoint the game had too little combos to pull off and I believe the original intent was to split the secondaries into six categories instead of splitting them into two and simply changing the charge attacks. DS2 lets me baseball bat enemies with a spear so I can't hate it that much, but I can recognize its oh so glaring flaws. It's why I don't get the Deathmastered edition, why not show Gunfire being capable to making a good Darksiders by building up on the original, incomplete game, being propped up by the good that's already there while fixing what went wrong with it.

The remastered did make it so you can't get life steal/wrath steal until the very end of the game of NG+. Though you do still get a unique axe which levels up with you that has low damage and low (but still more than enough) lifesteal. Life on crit and wrath on crit but those seem much more tame, admittedly I never used the fast weapons very much.

Demonic weapons still can get them. Even if that fails (it didn't fail me), then you can get guaranteed life steal spear fron Belial (don't know if you count DLCs). It's harder to get all armour of the abyss pieces.

Upon looking at the dev gameplay and not the polygon tier IGN gameplay. Seriously, which of their journalists were playing the game for those videos? it looks like it’s going to play more like Dark Souls with a hint of flashy action game than a full on action game. We’ll see if that pays off considering you look to only have your whip where as in DaS you have multiple weapons and in games like DMC you have style swapping. I think the biggest issue this game will have is it’s replay value though if it can’t get the combat system just right and so far I’m pretty unconvinced from the dev gameplay.

Like I said, it’s going to come down to the variety in combos and weapons. Right now the core gameplay doesn’t look to bad. It’s copying the souls formula but has a bit more of an action twist, the problem is all the gameplay shown so far seems to have her doing the same things to kill enemies. It’s either her bread and butter combo, and interuption of it where she knocks them in the air and strikes them from the ground, or an opening launcher for a small air combo. Nothing looks too interesting just yet, but it doesn’t look “bad” either.

Maybe they’ll go back to something similar to the first game a reintroduce cancelling but I doubt it.
