The Witcher 3 sold abysmally in Japan*. How do we account for this fact?
1. Gaming's dead in Japan. They are now a fringe market with minor sales compared to North American, European, or even South American, Chinese, Korean and Russian territories.
2. Japanese people hate foreign content. They would rather have a bad Japanese game than a good foreign game.
3. The Witcher 3 sucked. Its' sales abroad were a fluke. Truly, the Japanese are showing us the way to superior gaming taste.
4. The Particular attributes of The Witcher 3 were not to the Japanese populations subjective tastes. They hate realtime, sex scenes, good graphics, and most of all personal agency. They want a story on rails, with a waifu who will die before she kisses you, and grindy, turn-based combat.
