Sheeple will still play it, inevitably, but I imagine it'll go the same way as the Elder Scrolls card game. Existing Dota 2 players won't want to play it since it's far different from a MOBA, so Valve's only hope of catching an audience are people who play card games and haven't fit into a niche already like Hearthstone or whatever the fuck /tg/ players do these days.
