Compressed is better for size, uncompressed is better for CPU since it has to be uncompressed on the fly. So if you have a lot of sounds playing at the same time, it's better to use uncompressed. Long tracks like background music should be compressed.
Those uncompressed sounds should be short and not ultra-high quality. The compression method has to be chosen to strike a good balance between quality and size.
As for voice, human speech has very low quality requirement.

These days it's faster to load compressed data because disk and even SSD access times are terribly slow. Even a shit Pentium IV uncompresses something like lz4 so fast you can't even notice it. Modern file systems like ZFS even support transparent compression to speed up load times.

first (second?) red dead never had a pc port, supposedly because the game is so badly coded its not possible to debug and patch without a huge amount of time and money. the fact that it runs on x360 and ps3 as well as it does some say is a miracle. (i've heard the xbone emulater version is an improvement but it has some new bugs of its own)
wish we could get a port of the original capcom prototype from before rockstar got its hands on the IP.
