As someone who played through the entirety of the game in grorious Nipponese, I understand why people the localization is bad.

No individual examples (because it wasn't worth remembering), but I remember watching my friend who also knows Japanese play his English copy and both of us complaining about the same things. For instance, Ryuji's speech in Japanese is very casual, but they localized it as random vulgarity that doesn't even let him say "fuck" in an M-rated game. I also remember some lines (particularly Morgana's) being too literally translated, which is outright retarded unless you're an overzealous weeb who barely knows the language knows the language only a little more than Naruto cosplayers.

There was also a deity's amulet that for some reason kept the full Japanese name even though the deity has an English name.

To an extent, the same can apply to humans. Like, having children with people from similar regions can be beneficial to increase genetic diversity, but having children with partners that are too genetically similar or distinct can lead to a whole bunch of health issues down the line. With inbreeding, you have deformities. With outbreeding, it's much more difficult to get medical care because you end up just being too genetically distinct, severely limiting the amount of suitable donors for certain procedures. Can confirm. I work at a shelter. Pitbulls are some of the friendliest dogs I've worked with. The frequency of bites is no greater than other dogs, they just happen to be much stronger. Dogs will only be assholes if they've been abused, and pitbulls are unfortunately fighting dogs. There's one dog I work with, not a pitbull, that was clearly raped a lot and forced to have many litters. Her tail is clipped and her vagina is practically prolapsed. The unfortunate truth is that people don't know how to care for their pets. They feed them crap food, put their choke chains on incorrectly, don't give them enough exercise, and fail to use a harness when they do walk them. You can raise a pitbull so it isn't violent; you can do this with practically any animal out there. It's just that most people are under-qualified to care for a pet because they see them as things, not companions. People don't get retrievers because they actually intend to care for them, they get them because their weak bite would have them struggling to eat liquid food, and you will never know the extend of their dissatisfaction.
