The way it works is the your weapons are the martial arts moves that you know, and this update has tons of those. You build your own deck of 16 moves that flow into each other, so you can be a drunken kung fu guy, boxer, or some caepoeria idiot who rolls on the ground all the time. It's just God Hand, but with way more moves and more fluidity. Now that I think about it, if you liked God hand at all, this is basically just that.
There's also swords that have unique moves available to them. In total there are like 170 different moves in the game, each different. The game is kind of limited by being about human vs human martial arts movies. I don't see how a kick designed to hit a man in the throat would be useful against a crab. God Hand didn't have anything too crazy either, just different kinds of humans.
Anyways, I played the update a lot, here's what it is: You run around procedurally generated dungeons composed of individual rooms. Each room has a mission you fulfill, protect the point, kill all enemies, nothing too fancy. The maps are good, way better looking than the main game. There are spikes you can kick enemies into, like in dark messiah. The ai isn't as retarded as in the main game either, and they aren't unfair like there either (most enemies were hardcoded to do their special evasion moves on your third hit, no matter what, these ones seem not to do it if you mix up your moves).
There's three areas, three bosses. The new bruce lee moves are all pretty great, if you can land them. They seem to have long recovery times if you miss and I have no idea what the faejin style is supposed to be about. Tons of new armor which aren't that hard to get.
To sum it up it's god hand/dark messiah/diablo, why I'm the only one on /v/ who plays it is a mystery to me.
