The game was great, complete, the console only fucking why DLC was a nice bit of extra game that closed out the story of the characters from Dead Space Extraction, even the multiplayer was fun and unique. Dead Space is just one of the many series that falls into the same bullshit sequence:
>First game is fresh and interesting with an engaging story and good, if clumsy gameplay.
>Second game cleans up the gameplay without sacrificing too much of the magic that made the first game interesting storywise
>Third game is watered down bullshit with a focus on multiplayer where it doesn't belong, story doesn't make sense, and is either rushed to completion to save money on development or full of microtransactons to milk as much cash out of it as possible
Every time. Every fucking time there's a decent new concept for a game this shit happens.

This is a cursed thing and all too often experienced, Tacking on MP to a game where the WHOLE FUCKING IDEA is facing the horrors alone was such an egregious waste of time. Mass Effect suffered from it (and a lot besides) too.
EA must just have a permanent floating team of fuckwits ready to shit out cookie cutter multiplayer trash that they can bolt onto any project they're looking to poison/stick a cash pipe into. It used to make my gut turn over when I'd hear about shit like this being reported cos it meant whatever half decent series was going to suffer. At least these days they're only making purest trash in the first place so tacking on a shitty anachronistic MP barely matters anymore.

By having any desire to keep playing corporate-produced games, you are automatically contributing to EA and other corporations to keep making games worse.
They only care about profit. When you desire to play their games, you lose. They won't make the games better if they are well received. They will always, ALWAYS dumb down the games to pander to mindless real life NPCs in order to maximize cancer (profit), and will never listen to those that enjoyed the good aspects of a game.
Only by completely abandoning those corporations and their products and making as many people and normalfags do the same, games can have any chance of improvement, and even then, only when made by smaller teams, and not by ompanies.

>fill the game with microtransactions and a fucking crafting system, make people pay up to 20 bucks for things like a voice pack for your resource bot
>put fucking co-op, one of the things that's always bound to kill any amount of horror in a game, as a borderline mandatory feature, even lock content behind it
>tell visceral it has to sell a ridiculous amount of copies for a horror game, 5 million, or else they'll can the ip

Dead Space, Mass Effect, BioShock. Those were some of the biggest games over the last 5 or 6 years. So much hype and Claire Goodwill all wasted. The big Publishers like EA and Activision will always destroy any property they have access to. By annualizing it and turning it into a soulless formulaic loot box microtransaction nightmare. I don't know if you are the same OP, but there's also a "how do we save Mass Effect thread". And it's the same answer. all of these games can't be saved because they belong to greedy short-sighted Publishers only interested in turning a quick profit instead of creating quality long-lasting product. and those greedy Publishers use incompetent or overworked Developers. At the end of the day if a game is there going to be pulling in numbers like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, or those microtransaction driven sports games they won't bother with the game. And we already saw how awful they were trying to make Dead Space 3 with microtransactions, can you imagine what they would do to it now? Just look at Star Wars Battlefront, GTA online or even fortnite.
Big companies aren't really interested in creating video games, they just want to push Skinner boxes with sparkly buttons in gullible people's faces so they can get them hooked on a regular dopamine drip. It's disgusting

Again, ME is a different game man. ME was a blockbuster, it was really fucking popular so of course it was going to get milked dry. DS was always a niche title, it worked because it was a work of passion with a tight budget so they couldn't go full-retarded. It was a hit, not a mega hit but it did well when probably nobody at EA gave 2 shits about how it would go.
The problem is that instead of treating the DS series as a halo game, like a way to push the EA brand they went full retarded and tried to milk it down. Compare that to movie studios who are literally the biggest money grubbing faggots out there and yet they still finance artsy movies that make jack shit money but get tons of praise and awards, why? so that their studio isn't known as the faggots who only make shit like michael bay movies, thats why.

>Ruined gun variety by rewarding minmaxing your guns instead

Wasn't ammo/gun balance/variety already ruined by utilizing the RE4 inspired ammo drop system, having somewhat of a shortage of upgrade nodes and plasma cutter being the only gun that's all-round good?
>Addition of cookie-clicker-styled timed scavenger bots that include immersion/atmosphere breaking scavenger hunts and beeping everywhere
Make an example where that's even the case. Because scavenging nodes are limited per chapter and there is never really a time where you need to backtrack or somehow impede yourself on progress to collect them all/to get absolutely required bits to progress.
>Did not include the Ishimura
Is Ishimura absolutely required to make a Dead Space titled entry the Dead Space entry? If Ishimura is so integral to the series wouldn't that mean that DS2 was a lesser game too because of featuring the ship less?

What they did to the gun system is my least favorite part of it. I remember when I bought it I basically got to the point where the game dropped "you aren't going to really get distinct guns, there's no point in exploration or anything, no gun progression, nothing, instead you just make stupid meme guns using a crafting system goy :^)" and just sort of lost interest. Having a feeling of progression is important I guess. I dunno. I liked how all the other guns in the other two felt different. Some were crap but they were at least different crap that felt like they had a reason for existing in the world, not this shit where you make like a fucking borderlands abomination by the end.

In Dead Space 3 I had a 141 round gatling gun with an underslung sniper rifle, the latter of which 1HK anything.
Alongside those, I had a secondary in the form of a nail gun with the electric augment, so if I triggered the AOE electric, anything within 4 meters died, and anything that walked within that radius would trigger that same AOE for the same duration. Said AOE stunlocks everything and does not hurt the player. Entire rooms slaughtered with a single shot on the hardest difficulty. Yes this worked on larger Necromorphs including bosses.

That's not how "or" statement works, in that statement it effectively works as "in any of the two". What you are describing is "for either x or y".
Though there was a specified difficulty option for hard mode which may have confused you, since it actually isn't the hardest one, but either way I didn't want to specify for DS because it's an easy mode, and you wouldn't play an easy mode, would you? But you have still managed to fail it though.
You need to make an objective statement, otherwise you can pull any subjective shit out of your ass, which is no good! Regardless of whatever was or wasn't specified, you are engaging in an informational transaction that requires at least some objectivity and packet transfer confirmation, so minimum explanation is required.
