Basically, moments in vidya that bring this warm, fuzzy feeling to your heart. More specifically, I'm looking for moments where people you helped previously express their gratitude by supporting you when you need them the most.

Be it that one moment in Okami when the boss nearly mauls you to death but Furball gets nursed back to health through the power of concentrated prayers.

Or that other scene in the (however unpopular - just talking about another example here) Mass Effect 3 where being a good guy saw a gigantic liberation fleet of all the various alien races warping in near Earth.

Or just about another other scenario where you technically should be dead meat, only to find that your friends show up, and do not only turn the table, but smash it (and the villain with it) through several walls.

Or, alternatively, just moments where a thankful NPC slings it's arms around you and mutters a heartfelt "Thank you" that goes beyond the usual "Quest completed, here is -XY- gold and -Random Enchanted Item-.

PST, Morte, when you come back for him and dig him out of that tower of skulls. It's a genuinely touching moment because you know how loyal he has been to you and your past reincarnations all these years. Same with Dak'kon as you slowly unlock his holy book and release him from the torment he was suffering and he swears undying loyalty to you. Both of those are excellent examples of bros to the end.

Odd. The only thing I really remember about Morte was how the Practical Incarnation very nearly would have punched him to pieces.

That being said, I did like how Annah gradually warmed up to you right until the fiery kiss.

You will never see Annah see wearing a girly dress. Just for you, and all while her face blushes to the reddest hue of red.

Grim Fandango in places.

When a Hydra invaded my last DF forts surface farms I knew it was going to be trouble cos the guard was changing and a good 80% of them were busy/semi dressed/getting drunk/incandescently angry but suddenly the Guard Captain has just his steel boots on and bombs up past everyone to the exit to fight it one on one with his axe, *just* in time to save a girl I'd spent 20 in game years moulding from childhood to be a top notch surgeon, it was like 4 frames from fucking her over and the mad bastard pops out the hatch doors, runs past her and gets to chopping. I nearly jumped out of my chair with joy, that lad was a fucking diamond. He managed to pop two of its heads before it bit his chopping arm off, then the rest of the guard caught up and burst the scaly fucker all over the wheat crop. Freshly one-armed the captain throws up, washes the stump in a pond and heads back downstairs to the training room, lad was rock.

Minas Tirith in Battle for Middle Earth, you build up your Rohirrim army for Helm's Deep, then work on your Gondorian for this and seeing your Rohirrim army ride to your rescue to clear the map out. Beautiful thing.

Halo reach: At the end your sacrifice is rewarded with humanity thriving again.

Far cry 2: You're redeemed after blowing up a bridge/bribing guards to allow refugees to flee.

This hit me so fucking hard. It actually made me ponder upon it for a whole week after finishing it. I can count the games that managed to pull that off in one hand.

As for the reason why, it makes you appreciate the company you have.
