I always wanted to try the first Saw game via torrenting. Are there any anons who played the games, irregardless of your opinions on the movie franchise?

d8ffd7  No.15480869

puzzles are good, everything else is a dumpster fire

What I remember seeing a long time ago was how the development team incorporated everything about the movies into the game.

cb90a3  No.15481054

the death scenes are actually kind of funny if you're playing for that

The problem with these games is that rather than let the natural deadly puzzle nature of Saw shine, they felt the need to throw in forced combat mechanics and sections devoted to it. Like they didn't have faith in the concept alone to carry the game. Ultimately ended up with a bogged down experience for both games and creating an all around dull experience that merely ripped from the films and did nothing to interest. And its a shame because there was some potential.

Just play Zero Escape, specifically Zero Time Dilemma, it’s the closest thing you’ll get.

i can appreciate the trap aspect of saw but the torture part always pushed me away.

24ff41  No.15481672

first game is nothing but mini games but the its kinda cool for the atmosphere, and i liked the ending

the second is a bunch of retarded qtes

c9a538  No.15481673

They arent bad games by any means

How come people get scared by gore?

2a6476  No.15482212

Boring QTEfests, vapid. Avoid.

e8e0c9  No.15482248

>>15482194

It’s less being scared of it and more not having any real desire to see it. Maybe some people like seeing someone saw their arm in half longways, but I don’t see the point. It’s just torture porn, and it’s pretty boring to watch.

I guess /b/ got me used to real life gore so I don’t feel much about fake gore unless it’s trying to make me laugh.

804869  No.15482284

The game starts off pretty strong actually, kinda feels like Silent Hill Homecoming (not the strongest endorsement but there you go) but about 75% in it just devolves into instant death shotgun traps around every corner and pisses you the fuck off.

dc832f  No.15482496

>>15482194

Gore isn't scary, gore is just unpleasant to watch. I don't want to see it for the same reason I don't really want to go stare at shit.

d19348  No.15483386

>>15482496

That's a neat explanation.

2f30a1  No.15483687

The transition from movie to video game lost a lot of the stress it imposed on the viewer just watching it. The actors were actually pretty decent trying to convey how horrid the situation was along with the music scoring. The game didnt really do much. We all know that if you die to running out of time you can just start again. No real stress.

Didn't the Insane difficulty allow the one-life rule?

776de5  No.15488860

i never saw the point of these cashgrabs

39adf5  No.15488884

>>15482347

I actually see nothing wrong here.

But then again I have strong feelings towards this one way or the other.

47ba48  No.15490018

i always found stupid how the movie showed how genious the maniac was (he was just an engineer and that's why he know everything, from wielding to digital electronics), and how the plot jerked off to how he maniac outsmarted everyone (again and again) to things that the viewer had no way to predict because of "the law of perception".

147afd  No.15490075

>>15482248

It's boring once you get used to it, like there isn't really any substance to the story and what little there is had to be stretched across a whole franchise. Once you've seen the movies once then you already know who is going to die, how, and why so any twists have already happened.

the Pig is a playable character in Dead by Daylight with her own reverse bear trap gimmick

For some reason I find her cute

Didn't Amanda used to wear the pig costume?

8decd1  No.15491496

Uninspired shock value garbage for the most dumb players. Of course it flopped.
