where do you get the idea dq is minimum story?

I prefer my RPGs with minimum story. The story is almost always the worst part of the game, with few exceptions.

I've played IV and V. They had cool ideas like those chapters with different characters in IV or that family stuff in V, but it was five hours of gameplay for two lines of interaction with characters. I wanted to play VI and further ones but I feel like I'm wasting time playing DQ.

I have played maybe ten games during the last two years, because nothing seems interesting to me, if the game has minimal story I feel like I could do something better than just press buttons, like fap or sleep. If the game has gameplay I enjoy like 2D Castlevanias then I will play it and don't care about story, but gameplay in jrpgs is always the same shit (with some exceptions once in 100 games like SRT Endless Frontier or Knights in the Nightmare) so I need story.

This game is legitimately awful. You aren't allowed to directly control the target of your attacks or spells so when you cast cure, for example, it just cures whoever is hurt the most. Sounds reasonable, but then you realize that means it will target the white mage with 90/99 health over the warrior with 100/200 health. It's a horrifically infuriating piece of shit just like everything else Square makes now.
