It's a shame. I really like Ace Combat Zero, and that had a ton of plane skins from enemy aces, references to past games, and even a secret bonus mission you had to unlock. If this were today, most of those skins and the secret mission would be in paid content packs that in a few years won't exist anywhere except on piracy websites. Ace Combat 6 was gimped in terms of plane selection and skins because Bamco decided to scalp the game and sell overpowered DLC skins that unbalanced the multiplayer.
I'm fully expecting DENUVO for pc.

How I've felt about Tales. Honestly was surprised that the 3DS port of Abyss didn't see them finding some way to turn costume giving sidequests into paid DLC there, and that the uncoming remaster of Vesperia has all the DLC bundled in the base game, even out here, instead of them going "the west hasn't been jewed on this yet." And the fact that what should be a fucking given surprises me, is disgusting in its own right. Internet in consoles and handhelds was a mistake.

Bamco has long been known for having absurd amounts and prices on DLC already. And most likely, when pretty much every other publisher, or at least their investors, push for extra shekels from DLC, not doing so is seen as the illogical choice. But again, that's on their end. On the consumer end, obviously people here rightly hate DLC (paid more than free, but even the latter has the issue that the hosting servers will one day be down), but with the broader masses the response is more questionable. They, and diehard fans, are likely the sort that are willing to drop the money, encouraging practices that make everyone have to suffer.

This. It sucks that Bamco is doing this to Ace Combat, but after seeing how they handled 6, Ass Horizon, and Infinity I don't understand how anyone is even remotely surprised by this. The only surprise here is a port of 5 to PS4. I genuinely wasn't expecting that. I'm willing to bet that they'll release it later either on it's own or with the rest of the holy trinity on PSN. So it's not like it makes it worth pre-ordering anyways. The grand total of nothing for the PC release isn't surprising though, since it's still a niche market in Japan. MAYBE AC6 could get ported to PC, but I doubt we'll see the PS2 games on there anytime soon, either because of Bamco's incompetence or Sony's desperation to hold onto exclusives.
