PvP in RS was always shit

The Grand Exchange was a net benefit to the game because it helped new players make money, the problem came from high level players with multiple party hats worth of gold exploiting it

Trading should've always remained zybez-style except adding it into the actual game. Interact with some giant billboard that gives you an interface of who is offering what for how much and then contact the player to make the trade. GE put a clear value to all items and in my view this ruined how you look at items from that point onward. It was no longer "holy shit I got a whip!", instead it became "cool I just got a 3m gp drop."

The grand exchange automated a fair bit of player interaction that made the game more lively, I used to like grinding out and hawking steel bars and cannonballs to all the traveling players since they were always in demand, it felt like it added a little more meaning to the labor.
