I liked "I am alive" for some of it's survival mechanics, making Stamina a resource for many tasks and managing water/food had a massive effect on it.
Instead of a simple bar that depletes your health when it's empty, Thirst\Hunger made you work with less supplies, making things harder.
It was however a bit exagerated, water almost being a powerup at that point.
The game also had a terrible habit of making combat seem optional, that you could stealth by, but every attempt I gave it, the enemies would always see me. The design of maps didn't helped and made every combat seem like a pre-scripted moment.
Still, it was also quite nice how combat worked. You could aim your gun even if it was empty to scare people away. They would try to spread around and get behind you, moving slowly and if you fired a blank, they'd mob rush you, knowing you were empty. But if you fired a live round, they'd back down and maybe even flee.
Not many games make NPCs actually care about their own lives, TES comes to mind where everyone is suicidal as fuck. Everything is a fight to the death, even when they are clearly outmatched.
