Maybe you can say Farcry 3 had lacking narrative and aesthetic value but on a game play level you have to admit its good if your saying blood dragons good. I for one also see Blood Dragon as an improvement in every way no doubt. I really miss the feel of Farcry 2 the most personally and Ive been disappointment in Farcry ever since.

Far Cry 2 is my maybe second or third favorite game ever. I've beaten it 100 percent at least six times and I'm not even joking. It's one of the comfiest games ever. It's almost a perfect "Africa sucks and nothing will ever change that" simulator.

Far Cry 2 was way better than FC3 and that's not really saying much. FC3 was fun for the first few hours then you realize how bland it is. And then the dialogue and character writing/plot makes me want to shoot myself in the head.

I'd say FarCry 3 was decent in the context of the industry at the time.

It was completely new game made from scratch unlike most of the recycled shit that came after it and at a time where shooters were absolutely fucking garbage.

At least now there's some variety

It's still extremely tedious however considering it nearly replicates Asscreed.

Outside some decent tech, visuals and some extremely rare operatin sections I still don't understand what people like about FarCry 2.

It's one of the most tedious fucking games I have ever played and outside the diamond system there's really nothing going on with it.

Blood Dragon's got a great aesthetic, but that's it. I'll never understand where all the praise for it comes from, considering it's still working off of the shit engine that is Far Cry 3. Yeah, you're playing a big bad cyborg dude that bleeds machismo - but don't go shooting shit up, or else you're gonna get a fucking shotgun to the face and die like a pussy faggot instantly.

Just finished the game at max difficulty and died once due to the shitty fire mechanics where there's a fuckhuge delay before you can press q to put out the fire.

I always liked Far Cry Instincts Predator. Multiplayer in that was fun with modes like Predator and Steal the Sample which let you throw it (the flag) around to pass it to allies (and also all the made up modes like shark tank, cops and robbers, obstacle course, etc) and thanks to the level editor being pretty decent, there were tons of maps. Even the hilariously bad looking maps could be fun. I'm biased as fuck though as I used to play splitscreen with my friends all the time in it.

I liked the fire effects in that game, the multiplayer announcer who shouts about diamonds, and the the way you viewed the map in single player. It had some really cool smaller bits too, but often left me irritated by all the other annoying shit present in that game.

I haven't played far cry since instincts but reading about the normalfags getting pissed off about the 'good' ending was a great time.

Good ending: You go through the game wrangling these christians and stopping their cult or something and at the end you get the chance to walk away turning the other cheek or fight the big bad pastor of the compound. If you fight him after the fight is over he starts reciting the book of Revelation and a nuke drops in the distance. The white christian man was right the whole time. You gather your guys and him into a truck and start driving for a nuclear bomb shelter while bombs drop all over the place, deer come running out of the forest on fire and trees are burning and slamming down from the blasts. Eventually your truck is crushed by a falling tree at which point the pastor of the compound drags you, the only other survivor into the bomb shelter with him and keeps you chained to a table. Your character wakes up to see this and as you hear bombs above the shelter he tells you that since you took his family from him you're his family now. GG, white christian wins.

Graphics cards 3 years older then it can run it. Far Cry lags on modern CPUs because it was made to run on a single core, and a single core only. It's not even a proper open world game, it's tailored to appear that way.

That said, I'd poured hundreds of hours into FC3 until they stopped server support in my region. It was simply MORE FUN planning ambushes on patrols, raiding bases and generally killing those mercs with impunity.
