To answer OP's question: more and more visual novels seem to be getting translated these days, which are almost entirely not-games. Occasionally you may be asked to make a choice. Just be careful not to get one of the ones that have an actual game hidden in there somewhere, as even though they're usually just crap minigames, you would be exposed to a small amount of gameplay before it becomes a wall of text again.

Fruit in general are fucking gross and I have no idea why I've ever eaten them. The only good fruit is the apple, because it's not sweet, it's good, and it is good when cooked or made into juice. Eat vegetables instead of fruits, they're often cheaper and always better for you too. The best vegetables are the carrot and the garlic, but any of the vegetable are better than no vegetable, and no vegetable is better than the fruit, except for apple.
