I had the same experience, figured it was just another meme game like Surgeon Simulator and the like but actually found myself enjoying it. I also ended up with the Shadow Warrior one but Santa's Rampage seems to have more potential mayhem.

Bully was a greta game with great atmosphere. Really the only game I've played that nails the christmas vibe so well.
If you play New Vegas there's a Christmas quest mod that I noticed the other day plus there's a Christmas themed radio mod.
