Mankind Divided was an overall improvement compared to Human Revolution in terms of its gameplay. However, I'm not quite sure about its story, it felt quite vague and I'm not sure I understand the implications of everything that happened. I have to go back and play it again to really think about it before I comment on that. One thing I will say, though, is that I don't like that they tried to create some kind of class tension between "augs" and "naturals" because that is such a nonsensical, retarded, ham-fisted attempt at addressing muh racism or muh hatred, and all because they felt this is somehow a contentious and hot button issue in modern society today.
The reason it's retarded is simply because people are not born augmented, it's more akin to getting a tattoo or some kind of body modification. I imagine the vast majority of people who chose to get augmentations did so willingly, and were conscious of the potential downsides and effects on the body. Even those who are forced to get augmentations, for one reason or another, still benefit from them in some way. Once this is acknowledged, the whole allegory falls apart, and the discussion then shifts and becomes about questions such as, "how ought society distribute augmentations, and to who?" The whole "class struggle" thing is based on a plot device, a contrivance from the previous game, that really only serves as a weak foundation for the commentary the game is trying to get players to consider. In other words, you can't blame the augmented who went crazy and started chimping out for their poor conduct because that event was orchestrated by people who manufactured the augmentations in the first place. This retardation is akin to placing a large quantity of acid in a man's drink, and then chastising him for what he did while under its effects. With this in mind, why would the "natural" people of society suddenly shun their augmented counterparts? It seems like everyone knows that the catastrophic event was the result of a killswitch, and not some random act of God, so it's not like the general population has any reason to believe that augmentations somehow turn people into zombies and for no apparent reason.

That's kind of hard to say. My guess is that the game will follow Jensen on his quest to stop Bob Page's vague and sinister plot to destroy the world. At this point, since the writing is already quite shit from what I can tell, the worst case scenario is that it gets even worse. As for the best case scenario, I don't think there is one. The game is being made by people who work for Square Enix, and we all know they ruin everything they touch.

I'll give you that, some of the side quests were well done. I was speaking more about the main story's series of events. As I said before, maybe I'm missing out on some important details, so it's not really fair to say anything explicit about the plot. I'm just giving you my impressions.

The game never goes through the effort to explain how something like this would actually happen. They say that the girl had undergone experiments at the behest of a corporate entity who wanted to test some new kind of technology, which involved the implantation of a device that could somehow transmit the personality of one person into another. Fine, that's an interesting premise I suppose, but they never explain how such a thing could even happen or if it would be feasible with the type of technology that should exist at the time when the game is taking place. If they're willing to go through the effort of placing small details in the environment - such as the girl's e-mails which implicate her in the crime - why wouldn't they go through the effort to explain how such a device might function? If it's just "magic", then maybe their stories could benefit from being based on technology that might actually be applicable? Just a thought.

It's in the side-mission anon. They explain to you it's a neurological implant where the stuff that was missing from the brain, got covered by the stuff from the test-subjects, which happened to be criminals because they couldn't get volontairs to scrape your brain for memories. And it turns out she has the memories and personality-traits of the Harvester-serial killer and her intention was to harvest you for your augs.
You just happened to have the same doctor-connection. Which is how the story works in MD, there's a lot of different information and sources you need to connect and see what's real or what's bs. Are you getting fooled or are you right etc. It's story is very good because of all the conspiracy-stuff and it gets very immersive and you get paranoid after a while if you truly explore every nook and crane of the game and take your time to understand what's going on. Who is on who's side and whatnot and then it forces the player to come up with the conclusions.
But i get the feeling because the first time i beat it, it felt short, i just did the main-mission, never bothered with everything the game offered and thus it felt very short and cut off. However, just beat it today actually in a strange coincidence and i just need to recommend people just how good the game actually is.
The only problem i had was that i hated the lockdown-section of the game.

Why shouldn't they treat them that way? They previously just started a "zombie"-apocalypse and went nuts because of their augs. Objectively I thought it was great. Its level design was really good, had quests well laid out with steps that IIRC could even be cleared out of order, it always had rewards for you and for different styles, and it evolved really well over the course of the game.

If they don't want Jensen to find everything out in the next game, wouldn't it be better to have his journey be off-screen and follow a new protagonist? Part of why Human Revolution worked was because Jensen was so connected to the setting; a failing of Mankind Divided was that he felt like a carryover instead of a proper continuation.
It'd also have been a good reason not to have kept his supporting cast.

when you open the whole Prague hub its actually 2 maps connected via loading subway and in one of the bugger maps you can transport via subway as well but that loading took 1-2 minutes taking me out of the game

I'm playing IW for the first time, and it's not the worst thing ever. Tiny inventory and levels being broken into multiple pieces for the Xbox to handle are really bad, though. The story not red pilling you out of the way, as well as not being as politically charged is weird. especially since I replayed the original just before IW. At least it's not HR.

You know, the situation with the story and characters is probably the worst part of HR and MD. It's unlikely, but possible they could improve the gameplay in a new DX.
The story however? Fuck no. You'll never get a good one ever again. The original DX still has the best story in all the series despite modern gaming supposedly being all about 'games as art'. And yet, cool and talented people don't write for videogames in the west anymore, only "professional writers" that could be replaced by fucking robots for all the personality their work has.
