Anon, you should know by now how threads about trying to find and buy games are apt to go. But yes, there's been more than a few times. I'm usually the patient sort and will wait around until I can find something of interest at a cheap price (half or less preferably), which in my experiences I stand a better chance of in looking locally than from online vendors. That said, it's a slow process, and if I can't manage to find something within my percent range or what I'm willing to drop, I'll either look online for if someone's selling it at a still somewhat reasonable price, or download if there's no chance of that (though sometimes I'll still get lucky with a local fuck up at some point). And some systems I simply can't justify actually picking up games for when most of what I would like to play on them are either expensive or didn't even have an official western release (SNES, for example). Also of course a difference between a game not showing up because demand remains high that they come and go real fast, and not showing up because barely anyone bought it and the ones that do have them hold onto them. Something like, say, Nier: Automata, was going to show up eventually, and hopefully at beneath the $45 it averages where I live, and I managed that after about a month or two of patience at my preferred place to search. Something like BWT for below $110+ though, good fucking luck (unless you're in a locale like I am).
Actually keep a list of shit I've found for half or less what they tend to go for, just for reference. The relation between scalpers and plebs with too much money and not enough patience and/or common sense have fucked the aftermarket for numerous games if not libraries, but with some patience and luck, you can still manage good finds to a degree.
