what is the best form of pvp?
>short term investments like moba/br
>long term investments like mmos
>instant gratification like fps
are there any games left that let you grief/harass/shittalk without getting banned immediately?

Obviously best form of PVP is split screen with your sleepover buddy.

Where would DS-style invasions fit on that? Seems like its a sort of asymmetrical investment since its likely, outside of pre-determined PVP spots where people volunteer to host invaders sweden-style, that the two players will have a difference in how long they've been playing/building up their character.

While it's only two players it fits the mmo pvp setting where pvp can happen at random between two players with different time investments

FPS games usually have the best outright gameplay of the three, but I also prefer games where losing actually means something and you can bully someone into quitting/losing everything in game.

Games where you have no teammates and whatever losses you have you are accountable for. Competitive players can improve faster since they can identify their mistakes and correct them much easier than if they were in a team environment. This also gives no excuses for the "It's not my fault its MUH TEAM eckhhssdheheee XDDDDD" mentality (Of course there are terribly players whose bad playing outweighs the rest of the team's good ability. What I'm talking about is when its used as a consistent excuse for poor performance.). Team environments are best when the teammates know each other enough to not start arguments or in fight. That way conflict can be minimized, mistakes can be identified easier, and the ones making the mistakes will accept them without turning into a butt hurt faggot.

Non-meta pvp.
One of my favorite things in online games is to play when the game is new and fun-hating autists haven't dissected the game to learn what equipment and builds are optimal, what areas on the map are the best for camping, etc.
When people are playing using equipment and strategies they like instead of what they know is optimal for victory games are actually fun.

they have made good changes here or there but being run by gaijew it's a huge focus on grind and how they can wring you for cash
