Played about an hour and a half of it last night. Not very well optimized, but I expect that to change sooner rather than later since they're being helped by Croteam. Supposedly a memory leak, but it only apparently shows itself after an hour minimum. Crafting is wonky, but functional. They're supposed to totally rework it soon, along with several other functions. The BCU monitor isn't that complicated, since all you're looking at most of the time is whether or not you're wounded or need to shit/piss. Lots of casual normalfags are starving to death because they keep stuffing their mouth with food and sprinting for miles, when your stomach can only hold so much food and need to walk/stay still for a minute while it digests so your energy goes up.
I needed a new survival autism game since A17 for 7DTD looks pretty lackluster, so I'm glad I bought it. If I didn't have a crippling addiction to this tripe genre and want to support the devs and Devolver, I'd wait a month and check back, since there's not a lot to do right now besides making a nigger character and roleplaying as a tribal spearchucker.

There is no incentive to do a geared run in Tarkov since it just paints a target on your back for hackers and some level 1 can always just camp a bush and kill you 40 minutes into the round. As well, you cannot take as much loot out of the raid with you if you bring in your own. This is ultimately why I don't play multiplayer survival games. It's not a game of building your shit up and trying to survive against other players. It's a game of fighting for scraps among the riffraff and hoping the top dogs of the server don't find you before you're adequately geared to defend yourself. Which is never because they will always find you before this point. Because while you were fist fighting another player over a handgun with 3 bullets in it they were already decked out with M4s and body armor, retrieving a jeep and are now zooming around the map doing drivebys on people who've just spawned in.
It's even worse in games like ARK where when you log out you're not safe. Your character is merely "asleep" when you're logged out so the 3am energy drink chugging neets who play 45 hours a week will just kill your comatose body and take the scraps you spent 5 hours collecting and be on their merry way. Fuck multiplayer survival games.

Yeah I agree man. I still like this game and it has potential - now here's where the story and game goals/missions will come in. This game is planned to have a point. To remove the implant and get off the island. Also, in the lore from "Season 1" there was a group of prisoners that worked together and the Corporation had to send in mercenaries to try to kill them because they were too successful by cooperating.
There's programming skills that are on the character creation screen but not implemented yet… might not want to kill that random new spawn if he has a skill you'll need to do something later on. And maybe if you do, you'll get some sort of "target" on your back making you marked to other players that you're a nasty asshole and we should totally fuck you up.
There's a lot of potential man and I'm loving this game. Best $20 I've spent. I'm someone who played the original DayZ mod when you spawned on the beach with a can of beans and a pistol. This is the game already that I wish that became. There's only up from here for me as a gamer.

Alright guys you can tell from my previous posts that I've been very supportive of this game. Today really showed the game has some serious flaws.
I got killed by someone with a shotgun when I was in the middle of a field stalking a boar. Didn't hear him, no way of telling. It's a situation where IRL I would have seen/heard this guy from way off.
And he had to get super close to kill me with the shotgun.
Okay, so I just shrugged it off as he got the best of me and I'll start over, whatever.
Then my friend and I start playing the Team Death Match. You spawn into a part of the map with a different character and get to pick a weapon, so you aren't just running around with a spear or whatever. Okay sounds good, right?
Desync. Players are jumping all over the map. It's really bad. It isn't the "awareness" part of the game where people can't be 3rd person'ed or whatever they're trying to do with that. Guys full on disappearing in front of you with 1st person as you're looking at them and they're running. They stop, they are in a totally different spot. It's choppy and really bad.
So yeah. If you just want to sit in the woods, eat random mushrooms, maybe fight some easy zombies, sneak past mechs, craft some basic stuff, maybe make a fire and shelter… that part is pretty good but player vs player sucks bad.
And worst of all, there's not a point to the game yet so all people are turning it into a kill on sight open world death match.
