I just Biverted my DMG gameboy, and it looks amazing, this is how it should have always looked! The only problem is that now i have electrical problems, either something is taking up too much power and it's messing with other things (like the ED cart or the speaker whine). So i was wondering if any of you had any problems with your modded DMGs and how you fixed it? Did you just get better batteries, like lithium cells or did you install a 10V compactor into the back?

Japan actually had a backlit Game Boy way back when, but it wasn't tried again by Nintendo until the SP came around.

It takes a hit, but as long as you use a resistor (which mine didn't arrive with a resistor, so i had to get it from another gb) it's not too bad, i'm looking into getting some lithum cells for more power. Also it's not just backlighingting, The bivert chip gives you better contrast.

IMHO the proportions of the original GB's dpad and B and A buttons felt better than those of the GBC, so I thought about putting a GBC inside the case of a GB, of course adding light, and while I'm at it, putting micro switches under the buttons. The extra space of the old GB case could be used to store another cartridge and the headphones. The project never left the idea-guy stage.

I biverted and backlit my mgb. Haven't had any problems beside short battery life so I use one lithium battery and a dummy. Get about 6-8 hours on the one charge depending on game and original cart or not. Not sure about the dmg though.

Pls elucidate. Is this a thing we can do in other consumer electronics? I thought most lithiums were 3v, so if your gameboy took 2x1.5 in series that stands to reason, but how did you know for sure it used the batteries in series? A spec sheet?
