The Hum: First person survival horror set in an open, semi linear city. You are one of the last people left after grAYY's abducted everyone and they are looking for you. Made as a way of the creator expressing his trauma over constant night terrors about the concept as a child.
U55 - End of the Line: You are a man accidentally locked into the German subway after service hours. Only the reason its locked is because those winding tunnels disturbed something living down in the dark.
ROUTINE: You are a long astronaut on a installation in space. Something has invaded the station, everyone appears to be dead and it is hunting you
Why is it always neat looking indie horror that dies?

Dead Drive - I feel like it was the only who knows this game ever existed. It was never completed, all I ever saw was a teaser trailer.
It was a lone soldier stuck in a typical mid west American town full of zombies. It was a smaller scale open world GTAIII with survival horror elements. The big draw being able to steal abandoned car and drive around town and enter detail buildings to search for supplies; with the drivings stuff being fast paced action and building searching on foot taking on a slower moody resident evil vibe.
Basically Dead Rising if it took itself seriously and you weren't just stuck in a mall.
I have searched high and low and can find no evidence of this game ever even being in development.

>like if someone released a terribad meme game every 16 years
The problem with games like these is the same as making a purposefully bad movie: It's not about being "bad", it's about not trying to be good and letting the lack of polish be its defining feature.
Think about most games, not even AAA but AA and some indie games. Imagine what they would be like without the optimization, without the balancing, without all of the things that make it into an "experience". What you'd be left with is some game with mechanics so broken you can't help but laugh at them when you discover them. This is the kind of shit that makes entire builds and strategies in other games, so if there was a game that was built completely around this concept, it would be great.
Duke Nukem Forever's problem wasn't that it was a terribad meme game. It wasn't even a bad game, and that's the problem. It was just boring. Mediocre with more bad than good making it ultimately forgettable. That doesn't make for a good game and it doesn't even make for a good joke, let alone a good joke game.

I just remembered another game that has been in development hell for something like 12 or 13 years. A game called Phobos Online, which is a Tibia clone made by former Tibia players that were disillusioned by the path of development Tibia was taking.
I played it once in a closed beta 10 or 11 years ago. It took 30 minutes of failed log in attempts before I managed to get into the server (population full). I played it for about an hour, and as I was standing in town talking to NPCs, a GM summoned a Cyclops or something and it killed a bunch of people including me, and when you die you are logged out of the game. I couldn't get back in because the population instantly filled to capacity again.
Tibia's development veered off course even harder and I stopped playing it, and my hopeful replacement is still nowhere to be seen. Their forum gets a few posts a month at this rate.

No one really knows.
First it was a semi traditional game then it turned into a f2p game and the last trailer was with capcom online youtube channel(I think) then the last bit of information was in 2014 in December at the end of the year, where they said you will hear more in 2015.
Then they re-trademarked 2 times.
The game is more of a myth and a legend now, the scope was probably too big and the worst or biggest mindfuck of em all,is that this game was playable at one of the TGS's.

The most terrifying horror setting I encountered was one set somewhere in deep caverns, where there was something there with you, hunting you. The only source of light you had was a shitty flashlight, meaning you stuck out like a sore thumb, but had to use it in order to see anything at all. Constant rock formations everywhere, spooking the shit out of you, as well as deep dark holes leading downwards, containing who knows what. Anyone that's been to a cave complex knows what I'm talking about – the feeling when you stare down into they dark abyss, that goes on for kilometres and nobody knows where it leads. There should be horror games with this setting

Tbh they stopped being scare the moment I realised that they would be an indisputable proof of theafterlife, and if that were the case, I wouldn't even care if I died. Another thing is that whoever the ghost is supposed to be was such a pussy that he got murdered/didn't finish his bussiness/was such and angry sperg when he was alive. Why would dying make him any stronger? He'd just be even more of a faggoty fuck. Death doesn't give you new buffs.

Omensight
There was just one thread on /v/ when it launched, barely any discussion, but at least some anon posted a pirate link. Only recently have I started playing it, haven't finished it(I am at Act 3), so I might give a short review.
>the artwork is fucking gorgeous, and really the best part of the game, better than most AAA games(I am not sure if they are an indie dev or AA dev)
>the combat is satisfying, it's somewhere between a DmC and an Arkham game, you have a light and a strong attack, as some enemies have shields and you need the strong attack, you can do combos, you can jump and attack, you can dodge up to three times, to prevent spamming, you gain special abilities such as shooting a big projective, stopping time(even the projectile is stopped) and a dash
>as you kill enemies you gain XP used to upgrade health, damage, shorted cooldowns on the abilities, and so on
>the gimmick is interesting, basically it's the end of the world, because some priestess died, and her soul hasn't reincarnated, so you must find her killer and learn what happened, to do so you form special bonds with 4 characters(not all of them unlocked at the start), the imperial king who is waging a war of dominance, the imperial general who is loyal to the king, the rebel general, and another general that just hates the king, because of past events. You know how and when they died(for instance, at the start of the game, you learn that the fourth character I mentioned went to assassinate the king, but died and this happened on the day of the apocalypse), so you go back to the start of the last day, and help him in his quest to kill the king, and maybe you learn something new about what happened to the priestess, and the relationships between the characters(this character was previously tortured by the king for instance)
>at certain points in the game, going through an ally's story you uncover a major breakthrough in your investigation, and see a glimpse of what happened, first being that the king attacked the priestess, this being called an Omensight, and when used on an ally they will know it as being truth and will act accordingly, and might change their day, for instance the imperial general starts her day with calming a breakout in the imperial prison, but after receiving the Omensight, she will go and investigate the place where the priestess died, and later wants to confront the king
<my biggest issue with the game, is the fucking camera, you barely have any control of it, and it always changes angles depending on what area you are(so it will zoom in in a small room/corridor and zoom out in a larger area so you can see all the enemies), and this especially frustrating when the game demands you to do platforming, and it's really hard to precise jumping with this camera, oh and you miss the jump it's game over, but at least they put checkpoints before the start of a platform segment
<sometimes the camera zooms too much out, that you can't see when the enemies attack(they have a exclamation mark above their heads, instead of making sounds), and when they are as tiny as ants, and you are fighting a dozen, it's hard to react to their attacks
<you can not skip cutscenes, you have to mash the B button(360 controller) in order to skip LINE BY LINE, and it's immediately, so you just keep mashing that button, because if you hold it, it doesn't work
<if you start a day, you can't end it immediately you have to play to the end of the day, this is even more frustrating, considering you can't really skip cutscenes
<after gaining an Omensight, you can't choose if you want to give it to a character or not, and this means that you can miss certain paths of characters(like I did, and had to restart the game, because I am autistic) so it discourages exploration, and made me look at a walkthrough to know what to leave for last, because I wanted to explore everything, and you can actually miss biographies, so if you explore too much you can miss 100% the game
(Part 1/2)

Part (2/2)
A final comment for the game, and probably the most controversial, at least here on /v/, is that while the main character is a ghost lady, all the others are furries, but more in the style of LooneyToons cartoons or Zootopia, rather than the average furry deviantart. They say it was to be more expressive, and maybe it's true, they have the arrogant vulture king, the loyal and porn generator cat lady general who is loyal to him, and aggressive and dumb bear rebel, and a hyperactive and jewish mouse who is the leader of the rebels
Here are the parts you need to avoid in order to not go from one chapter to another, until you want to
In Act 1 if you open the yellow seal(something you learn from the cat lady, but even if you know how to you aren't forced to) during the run with the bear you will got to Act 2
In Act 2 if you open the green seal(something you learn from the mouse, but even if you know how to you aren't forced to) during the run with the cat you will got to Act 3
From what I hear in Act 3 if you play with the mouse you will got straight to Act 4, also play as the bear to unlock the purple seal.
Overall, I recommend pirating the game to at least demo it.
>tl;dr the artwork is gorgeous, the combat is decent, the camera is shit, read the last spoilers to know what not to do, worth a pirate

Why didn't they sell it on Steam or GOG? They were popular around that time and they did allow people to sell games on their storefronts?
