But phones are complete shit as controllers, which is why the only thing anybody plays on them are clicker fruit ninja freemium shit. Anything more you might put on it pretty much requires one of those goofy controller-phone cradles.
The only thing I could see being useful is if you could could screen-cast the DS/3DS bottom screen to it for touch functions on Citra/DeSuMe. But that's a pretty specialized function for a niche audience that they can't monetize.
