Why the fuck would Valve ever risk their notoriety making a meme game that will never, ever, ever, EVER be fucking good enough for the plebian hordes? Half-Life3 will never be developed or released because, for the same reasons Final Fantasy 7 will tank, it will fail to keep the interested parties in check unless it does the absolute best 100% 11/10 job possible at being the standard-bearer of the series into the newest generation of casuals and faggots looking for every possible reason to hate it.
It's simply too much of a fucking risk to take spending potentially a billion or more on developing and marketing this massive epic, and Gabe knows full well just how fuckered up all the in-house development teams are; he's certainly never going to even remotely consider outsourcing Half-Life3 to another studio, as it will cast even more aspersions on his own in-house developers, as well. This project would absolutely require the best of the best in the entire industry to create, working at the top of their game for years, and it still only has a slim chance to be worthwhile enough to properly carry the mantle of this bullshit meme game.
