>CPMA
What's that? I don't recognize the acronym.
There is a "third person" styled soccer game, IIRC it was in honor of a Brazilian player but I just can't remember its name.
Basically you could only play as one guy and had to literally beg the team to pass you the ball, it's the Become a Legend game mode but it had its own ps1 game.

OH BOY YOU'RE IN FOR A SURPRISE, BY MDICKIE HIMSELF NO LESS
But in all seriousness, what you're describing is the PES Wii's Champions Road mode, it's a lot of fun! Compared to the Master League - which is more about managing the economy and morale of your team - it's an entirely arcade experience where you get to level up players with rpgesque stats and rob opposing teams of their players a la Megaman Soccer, only you have to pick up cards with vague hints to learn whether the player is any good. Pick up the 08 or 10 versions, they're loads of fun.

Hugely depends on the kind of experience you wanna get from your sportsball. Super Mario Strikers (GCN) is fantastic for an arcade game's night with friends, I wonder if net play's an option with Dolphin; Mario Strikers Charged however is high skill ceiling nonstop action, with tiers, strategies, stats that actually matter and loads of meta, there used to be a wad or something that allowed online wii games to play even without the central server.

>it's still not real football
None of these games are, they're all SPORT SIMULATIONS. I wouldn't want to play real life soccer in my vidcons, can you imagine having to set up 22 men, a ref and possibly two benches of subs just to play a game once in a while? If I wanted to play real sportsball, I could do it with even just me and a shut down garage, 2 on 2, with a full team etc., football's great because it needs barely any equipment, everyone can play, the basic rules are simple (and it allows for lots of variations and house rules so to speak) and any number of people can join in.
It's completely different from any American based sports, where even negroball needs at least a high enough hoop. You can make a soccer goal out of two shoes buried in the sand and it's still legit.

FIFA Street doesn't have electric fences all along the arena though.
