Except for the fact he's controlling a human body that will eventually decompose. He could transfer it into something else, sure, but eventually he'll run out of power sources and shut down considering there aren't any humans left. That's another thing that bothered me about SOMA; there would absolutely be other humans out there. What about all the other underwater bases? What about people living in bunkers? What about people on the other side of the planet who wouldn't have been instantly wiped out? If the comet really was powerful enough to wipe out all life on the Earth's surface then it sure as fuck would have been able to do the same to everything underwater as well. The friction alone would increase the temperature by a dozen degrees.

You can play as a robot in Fallout New Vegas with the Robot Races mod.
You heal yourself using scrap metal and spare batteries, and there's a bunch of new perks added. You can also upgrade your body and play as some sort of sentry bot.
