How about an obscure games thread? preferably from your own country of origin. As an example I'll post Modi and Nanna, a bizzare Polish 3D platformer/adventure game about a pair of viking kids going off to kill an evil wizard. It doesn't work well on machines, doesn't have resolution options from what I remember and is generally awfully buggy and kind of janky in every way and form.

We have been having them nonstop. Just wait a few months instead of having a new one right after the old one gets past the bump limit.

I enjoyed playing Alien Shooter 2 back in the day. I still think that in terms of pure arcade-like fun the first Zombie Shooter is better, but both are pretty good.

>"shame they mostly make mobile games now"

Fucking THIS, also their port of Alien Shooter for the PSVita was trash. What a waste of potential

f92c2c  No.15314739

>>15314589

It's more in the vein of classical RE, and it has a few interesting mechanics besides managing to do a job of properly aping early 00s teen horror movies. One unique mechanic they borrowed from Sweet Home (IIRC, it's years since I played it) is that each character has a unique skill that you need to progress (or access optional areas), but you can only ever have two characters in your party, so you need to juggle the cast around constantly. Also, at some points in the game you can turn on the light or break the windows to let in light, which damages enemies.

The sequel gave us some brother-on-sister snuggle struggle with extra tentacles.

A few years ago, I saw some pirated korean 3d shooter that was called "Alien Shooter Online" or some shit. They actually recreated alien shooter 2 in 3d pretty fucking well, except most armor looked like it was from starcraft. That gave it away. Lagged like shit, tho, but otherwise, it was amazing, proof of concept that sigma team could also make, if they weren't lazy fucks

922859  No.15315101

>>15315075

I should mention, it was still isometric, but the graphics were 3D. And it had coop, loot crates, and all this other cancerous shit, but they actually recreated stuff like drake(dude from the first game), magma minigun, and other assets, including the aliens, all in 3D. It was the fucking tits, wonder if the game is still around and supported?

I always wished there were more of these games. Apparently there are some unofficial russian bootleg sequels, but the art direction wasn't as appealing and I never even tried them.

I was cleaning out my parent's basement today and there was a bunch of my old vidya, most of it classics like banjo tooie or metroid prime, but also two obscure titles.

>Hexplore

Sort of looks like Diablo at a glance, but with sort of an RTS twist, the idea is that you form a team of four, the mandatory adventurer, and a choice of three for the archer, the warrior and the mage, the cute girls always weaker. Each class can get past different obstacles and accepts a completely different item loadout. I know I tried to play it past windows XP and got a big old fuckoff, so virtual machine might be the only way to play it.

>Will Rock

Serious sam except greek mythology, an acid and pretrification gun, and Twisted Sister playing every time you open the menu.

I bought this a long time ago, was possibly the only entry in a popular and influential Japanese franchise that made it over here. It's pretty unique and was ahead of its time but is raw as fuck as it's a platforming PC-98 port. Falcom even remade it as Sorcerean Original (seen below) but there's still no English patch that I know of. It's a hidden gem waiting to be rediscovered.

I absolutely love. Sorcerian. Its a shame it doesn't have too much recognition, and its an even bigger shame the remakes never made it to the west. Sorcerian Forever has a partial english patch(https://www.romhacking.net/translations/2699/), but Original will probably never get one at this rate. But, you never know. There was also a Sorcerian Dreamcast game. I played it, but it was kinda weird. It was a 2.5D remake and had a really weird camera that, in some areas, turned it into a top down RPG almost.

Funnily enough, games that enjoyed relatively limited success in Germany itself somehow have a tendency to develop small but borderline-fanatic fan communities in Poland and Russia.

Pic related is one of those. Diggles was a commercial failure because it had very high system requirements for its time (not to speak about micro-managing the little assholes being a pain), but somehow has achieved a bit of a cult status in Russia.
